Problems
I always follow the rules, never once have I disobeyed my mom. dad really isn't in the picture, guess he never wanted anything to do with me. My therapist thinks this is a part of my "problems". Sometimes that lady can be a real pain in the ass. I don't have any problems, I am just better off alone. This is what landed me in her office in the first place. You know that quiet girl you've been in class with all middle school, but you never really noticed her? Well that's me Riley. I don't stand out much. I'm what you call a loner and never say more than two words to anyone besides my mom. I just tense up when I talk to people. It's the summer before freshman year in high school. While everyone is out enjoying the sun and fun nights with their friends I'm home doing nothing. I never do anything I'm use to it. Mom hated that I sit around and do nothing all day. So, she decides that neighbors. Mom is a community activist, she loves things like this. To be 41 mom is really active and fit. She's been through so much, and still has that we should walk over and meet the new neighbors. Mom is a community activist, she loves things like this. To be 41 mom is really active and fit. She's been through so much, and still has this bubbly, lovable personality. Why can't I be more like her? As soon as we walk up to the house I noticed a tall guy unloading the truck. He looked to be about 17 or older. Just as we noticed him, he noticed us. He greeted us with the most heart warming smile I have ever seen. My goodness he is everything. From his looks to his physic. He has to play some type of sport. Mom introduces us, and he introduces himself. His name is Marlo, and he's 16 years old. Marlo says him and his mom moved from California to Cleveland to be closer to family. He want inside to get his mom. It wasn't a surprise to me that mom knew Marlo's mom, she knows everyone. Turns out they went to high school together. I know what you're thinking, the boy next door. How cliche? er to family. He want inside to get his mom. It wasn't a surprise to me that mom knew Marlo's mom, she knows everyone. Turns out they went to high school together. I know what your thinking, the boy next door. How cliche? Just remember I'm a total mute, there's no chance of that ever happening. Just like mom she offers our help to unpack and move boxes. She can be so annoying. Marlo hands me a light box, and tells me that I can help him with his room first. Mom wanted to show Marlo's mom Vanessa our home. The two of them walk across the street cackling like teenagers. We take the last couple of boxes to Marlo's room. I am exhausted, so I take a seat on the bed. Marlo follows immediately after and takes a seat right next to me. We sit there in silence for a couple minutes. He starts asking me questions like I'm taking a survey. I try my hardest not to be so weird, and really answer his questions. Shockingly it was easy talking to Marlo. Did I just make my first friend? Over the summer Marlo and I became good friends. I know this sounds like a typical teenage love story, but its not. Marlo and I were only friends. He was the only friend I ever had, and I was grateful for him. I could talk to him about anything I swear. Lately, he’s been hanging with this new crowd. I don’t really like them. He invited me to a party with him, and his new friends. I can never say no to him. I sat in the same corner all night at the party. BANG! BANG! I hear gunshots and people screaming. I run away from the confusion and try to find Marlo. I go outside and see Marlo laying on the ground. He has been shot six times. Just great another damn problem to add to my list.
