It was July 14, 1995 In Lisboa, Portugal when Alonso Jimenez, a new professional athlete was born. It was his desire to become someone important in the world of sports. He said one day, “I want to become a professional soccer player and be the best in the world”.

His favorite sport was soccer. As he grew up he moved moved out to Madrid, Spain to conquer his dreams as a professional soccer player. One word that describes Alonso is joyful because every day he always lives life to the fullest. As a kid Alonso worked at selling ice cream to gather money for his family. Life wasn’t really that great for him. Alonso always admired Cristiano Ronaldo, a professional soccer player in Madrid. He played for Real Madrid for 14 years; some say that Real Madrid was the best team in the world.

Alonso said one day, “I am going to be the best in the world.”
What’s very interesting is that Cristiano Ronaldo is from the same village as Alonso. That’s what is inspiring Alonso more to become a professional soccer player. Alonso loved his life. First, he would get ready to go to school. He comes back, gets ready for soccer practice, comes back takes a shower and goes to sleep. Alonso has gone through so many bad things in his life so much heart breaks. At the age of 7, his father left him and he just had his mom for so many years. Time and time passes by, and he hasn’t seen his father he wishes that when he turns 18 his father would come and visit him.
“Why doesn’t my dad come for me I’ve been waiting for a long time”?

The day Alonso was waiting for has finally come. He was recognized by a famous soccer star all over Europe his name was Alex Ferguson. The all-time scorer of all the leagues, he’s one the European cup more than 3 times.

Alonso’s family was so happy for him because the moment was finally here a young and talented star about to face the world by himself. He had a little message for his mom, he said that he will try to be the best in the world and take his mom out, that dump they would be live in. So he packed all his things up ready to go. He was scared of airplanes. He’s never been one before or most of all he just couldn’t afford it. As the years went by Alonso would always write letters to his mom saying how much he loves her. He got used to the city life in Madrid and how it’s always busy and all. He said it’s very hard to wake up at 5:00am in the morning hearing construction, people, music, and many more.

First training session was all to prove who had it all to face big super star legends. It was so nerve-racking because of all the competitive people out on the field. He knew he wasn’t really the best one there but he tried his best. He had lots of courage in his heart and knew he had to do the best to become a professional. So the next day all the players were called back into the room and slowly by last name, they were calling out the winners and a chance to be a professional soccer player. Alonso was praying and praying to get his last name called, it would change his life. First, “Gutiérrez”, Second,” Gomez”, and last but not least, “Jimenez”. Alonso yelled out,

“Yeah” and was crying from so much emotion. “It was great”, he said.

He knew that his life was about to change and his dreams were accomplished.

“Dedication is hard work and breath taking”, he said.

Alonso was sent to Real Madrid world’s best soccer club in the world. It was known for being the world’s most expensive team in the world, worth 3.4 billion dollars. That is a lot of money. The squad joyfully opened their doors to him. Alonso knew that that would be his new family and that he would not give up on them. He met Cristiano Ronaldo there; Alonso couldn’t believe that he was going to be part of the team with Cristiano. He said,
“It was the best experience in my life that I’m going through all these wonderful things”.
“Everything was going as I expected”, said Alonso
But until a shocking incident happened; He got into a car crash and was taken to the hospital immediately. The whole real Madrid squad went to the hospital in Madrid and gave him gifts. His car that he was driving was a Bugatti Veyron red with butterfly doors. It was amazing how the whole team was there even the president. It’s only his 3rd day there and they treat him like if he was there for a long time.

As thing where going great for Alonso it was only getting worse. The doctor told him that he had a fractured leg; a bone had popped out of his leg. His recovery was one month. As the weeks went by he started getting better and all the pain has gone away. He had special exercise for his leg and it would be alright. The first game of the season was coming up and he was ready to face the opponent, it was fc Barcelona the arch enemy of Real Madrid. Alonso was ready with his Nike shoes Mericual he knew they would not be able to stop him. The match starts, its one to zero goal by Cristiano Ronaldo at the minute 7. The second half starts and Alonso scored at minute 90, the whole crowd was chanting his name over and over again, he was so happy.

The game ended and it was 2-0 Real Madrid vs Barcelona. It was Alonso’s first goal ever and on his first match that was awesome. Alonso was the happiest human being alive. He got his pay check and it was 16.5 million euros. In an interview he said, “It’s amazing how life can change in a matter of seconds”.
Alonso grew up to be the best athlete in the world and always got sponsored to do Commercial’s. He got married and had five kids, he also made his own soccer shoe it was called The AJ 7 FLY, for maximum speed and balance.

“I always had that promise”, said Alonso

“The promise to take my mom of that dump.”

So Alonso flew back to Portugal and bought his mom a mansion.

Alonso’s mom was full of joy, she was crying of so much joy her son has done for her. She yelled out,
“I love you Alonso for all you have done, I am the happiest mom alive in the whole world”.
