My Teacher is A Marina… Rebecca Sims
Choosing a nominee for this essay was a difficult because I had to look at all the teachers I had in the past and the one I have now. All teachers are equally as important and do things to help you move forward in life. Some might end up growing on you more than other. Like my nominee Rebecca Sims. Other students probably have so many nice things to say about their nominees. Well there is so much I can say about Sims, she has been teaching me English for the past two years now. I’ll start off by saying she is a proud marine so she is as tough as they get. I realized how strict she was going to be the first day I stepped into her class. The funny thing is it is her strictness that I grew to love and that’s the reason she is my favorite teacher. This special lady is a hand full, she is one of those teachers that would be hated for passing out failing grades or adored for all their hard effort in teaching and trying to get us hard headed students in line.
The best thing about Sims is that she shows no favorites in her classroom she yells at everybody in the same loud tone. She is one of those people who does not take excuse from because she like to say “When you get in college your professor isn’t going to take excuse and in just preparing you for that.” Sims is about the only teacher that helps us out with college information. She looks up scholarships and makes us enter all types of writing and poetry contest. Sims believes that all of her students can be successful and she motivates us to go after our goals.
Even though Sims is a tough teacher she will also make makes jokes that no one expects. I’m most comfortable in Sims class be we can go take to her about the most random thing and she don’t mind telling straight forward how she feels and giving us a reality check.
