A Trip to the Beach
Paisley had just turned fifteen in her freshman year of high school and she was absolutely ecstatic. She was excited to attend the party that was on later that night. She lay in bed and thought of what she would wear to the party. She wondered if she should wear her red sparkly dress, or just some jeans and a top. She turned to the side and rubbed her eyes, she didn't feel any younger, or any older, she just felt ordinary. "Honey, breakfast is on the table," Her mum yelled from the kitchen. Paisley got out of bed and proceeded downstairs. She entered the kitchen and smiled to see her favourite meal set out on the table. There was a stack of pancakes which had golden syrup oozing down from all sides and an ice-cold chocolate milkshake specifically bought from the nearest café down the road. Her mum came up to her and gave her a long, warm hug. "Happy Birthday love" she said warm heartedly. Paisley then sat down and immediately began feasting on her meal. After each and every bite of her pancake, she would gulp down her creamy milkshake and do it over and over again until she had finished. After eating her food, Paisley went to the school for her weekly tennis practices. As per usual, Paisley performed excellently, she was the best teenage tennis player in the Gauteng region and her future was bright. She went home after a long, tiring practice and went straight into the shower to prepare for the night. Day became night and Paisley had just finished her shower. She got dressed into her casual outfit, and waited for her friends to collect her. "Your friends are hear," her mum warned Paisley. "Got it mum," Paisley replied. She ran downstairs to greet her friends and together, they went to the house party. They heard the music as they approached the house and also the sounds of people cheering. When Paisley entered the house, she instantly heard people scream "Jug! Jug! Jug! Jug! Jug! Jug! Jug!, woohoo, come on!" Paisley laughed and went to sit down with her friends. One of her friends had brought drinks of all sorts, from vodka to tequila and even shots. They began knocking down drinks like no tomorrow until they had finally had enough. "Guys, how about we go to the beach!?" mentioned one of Paisleys friends, "let's do it!" Paisley replied. They entered Samantha's car, "Who's driving?" Someone asked, "I will, it's my car," quickly replied Samantha. The group of girls headed towards the beach and were driving astonishingly fast."Slow down, you might kill us all!" Paisley shouted, "don’t worry, I got this," Samantha said afterward. Suddenly, sirens went off all over the town, Samantha turned on the radio "and remember, stay indoors."
