Faraway
As I stepped out of the house I noticed something familiar, no not something, someone. She was lying on the floor in the middle of all the torn up buildings, looking up to the sky but she wasn’t moving, all she did was stare up as if there was something there, making movements to go with her but she didn’t even blink. She looked so sad, so lonely and so far away. As I called out to her, screamed her name, she subtly moved her head, her eyes looking into mine. I didn’t want to leave her here, we could move and get some help but the look she gave me was full of defeat, she was about to go away just like everyone else… I moved toward her quietly, softly, painfully but as I got close enough to get a good look of her face, a tear ran down her cheeks. She was smiling, she was happy, but she was gone so quickly.
