Distraction was the main key. Finding someone who isn't paying attention in the slightest. Cell phones make this exceptionally easy. Just find someone who’s texting with loose clothing on. And today was my lucky day. The perfect prey was standing right in front of me. A young absent minded young man with baggy pants and a wallet in the back pocket standing in line in a hot dog stand. It shouldn't take long to capture my prize.

I look around and make sure no one is observing. I see a man behind me but like my victim his face is buried in his phone. I reach my hand to grab it before the man steps back making my hand snap back like a kid being caught reaching for cookies he was told not to have. I stepped back and tried again. I tried to be swift and managed to grab the leather coated money bag in my hand. I smiled satisfied with the success and quickness of my mission. I can't help but laugh by how easily people get distracted. It's like they’re trying to make my job easy.

I place the wallet in my pocket and my hand in the other one. That's when I notice my hand entered an empty space where my own wallet should be. I turn around and see the customer who was standing behind me was nowhere to be found.
