“Sir, I would like your daughter’s hand in marriage. My mate died four years ago, and I have been looking for a replacement, and I have chosen your daughter.”

Tim Barnes was a vile man. He was sloppy, rude, and smelled of alcohol. He was twenty-six years old, had brown hair that fell to his shoulders, brown eyes that seemed to have no soul to them, and had a smile that gave you the shivers. Not the good kind either.
“I’m sorry Mr. Barnes, but I will not allow you to marry my daughter. She is only seventeen years old. And besides, she is waiting for her mate, who is out there somewhere. You are going to have to find some else Mr. Barnes,” my father replied coolly.

My father was a handsome man. He had golden blonde hair, hazel eyes, and a kind face. His voice usually had a soft ring to it, but this time, it had a slight edge to it.
“Fine. But know this: I will be back. And I will take what I have claimed, willing or not. And I will kill whoever stands in my way. Good-bye Mr. Richards.”
Tim then turned to me and said, “Serena, I will be back for you. Be prepared, my love.”
And with that said, he left.

Later that night, there was a distant howling in the woods. My father sent out four pack warriors to scope it out. Ten minutes later, only one returned.
“Alpha, it’s Tim. He has over 200 rogues with him.”
“Gather all the troops and attack. He will not take my daughter.” The soldier bowed his head and left to complete his task.
“Serena, I want you to stay in my room with your mother and lock the door. Do not come out unless I come for you. Understand?”
“Yes, father.”
“I love you Serena.”
I love you too, dad.”
I gave my father a quick hug and then ran to my mother’s room.

“Mother! Father said we must stay in the room until he comes to get us,” I breathed out franticly. When I finally caught my breath, I looked up only to meet the eyes of Tim, holding my dead mother in his arms.

“At last my love. Now we must hurry. Your stupid father will soon feel your mother’s death and come looking for you.”

“No! What have you done! I don’t want to marry you! I hate you! You killed my mother and are trying to kill my pack!”

“Serena, my love…”

“Don’t call me that! I am not your love and never will be!”
Smack!
“Don’t you dare speak to your Alpha or your mate that way Serena! Now you a good girl and come to me, or I will have to harm you again!”
“You will not touch her again Timothy!” my father’s loud voice boomed throughout the room.
I quickly ran to him and his behind him.
“Now Robert, I wouldn’t want to have to kill you like I killed your wife.” Tim pat out at my father.
“Timothy, you have murdered my wife, killed off my whole pack, and almost took my daughter. I am not the one who is about to die, you are.” My father lunged at Tim.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gun shots rang through the air. I quickly hit the floor, covering my head with my hands. When the gone shots stopped, I looked around. Lying in front of me was my father with multiple bullet holes through his chest.
“Dad! Get up!”
It was too late. He was dead.

“You monster! You have killed both my parents and my pack!” I screamed at Tim.
“Your father got in my way of taking you, so he had to pay the price. Now Serena, come with me.”
Tears were flowing down my face at a rapid rate. I slowly walked up to Tim and allowed him to take my hand. He smiled at me and at the moment, I made a choice. I kneed him in the gut and at grabbed the gun.
“Love, you don’t want to kill my, I am your mate.” Tim heaved out.
“No, my mate wouldn’t kill my parents to be with me! He would understand were my father was coming from, and accepted it! But you! You killed my family, my pack, and tried to kidnap me. And for that, you must die!”
“Serena love…”
I didn’t let him finish before I shot him in the heart and the head three times each. Once I knew he was dead, I dropped the gun.
I walked out of the room, no bothering to look back at my dead parents. I walked out the front door trying to not step on my dead pack members. Once I reached the edge of the forest, I transformed into my wolf, and sped off.
After about an hour of running, I made it into an open meadow. I sat down and howled at the moon. But it wasn’t any regular howl; it wasn’t even a sorrowful howl. It was a promising howl. It was a howl that promised revenge; revenge on every rogue I came into contact with. I would avenge my parents and pack member. I would make every rogue feel the pain I was feeling now. I would be a killer, just like them…
