Lights flashed against the wall of all colors- green, yellow, red, and even blue. Jay stared at the wall- a brick wall- black bricks. The floor was black- the ceiling was black- and the colors flashed back and forth, as he watched the display in curiosity. He swirled the remaining ice in his empty glass around as he took out his golden, antique pocket watch, popping it open to check the time- 12:12 A.M. - and put it back in his breast pocket. He lifted his glass to his face- He threw it back and caught a piece of ice in his mouth- and let it slowly dissolve, absorbing the water and cold into his tongue. He took out a coin, and flipped it up- it landed on heads. He fiddled with a piece of metal a little, then put it into his pocket. Jay saw his jacket on the floor. His upper body apparel was now a white dress shirt, suspenders, and a black bow tie. He moved closer to the brick wall again- so close that the lights no longer just flashed on the wall, but on his skin too. With his eyes open, he held out his left arm and rolled up his sleeve, watching the colors dance along his flesh. Slowly, he moved it closer- one inch away- a half an inch away- and finally forced his hand onto the brick wall.

All the lights turned white. The lights stood still in place, as did Jay. He looked at the brick wall, and it was no longer black- but white- like everything else was now- the floor, his bow tie, the ceiling. He took his hand off the brick wall, and touched his face with it. The lights started to flash all different colors again, and danced against the wall and floor. Jay stepped back. Lights flashed at an exceedingly rapid pace. He moved forward, this time, with a more positive eagerness. He rolled up his other sleeve, leaving both of his forearms bare. With his hands up against the wall, he could feel the energy coming off of the surface. Closing his eyes, he prepared to play god again, and threw both of his hands against the wall. He opened his eyes.

He could see nothing- no colors, no wall, no surfaces. It was like no other experience he had before- the true meaning of invisibility. Infinite, deep, nothingness. Jay closed his eyes. This couldn’t be true. He opened his eyes again to hollowness. It had to be a dream. “Yes, a dream, that’s it”, he had thought to himself. He performed the classic pinch to awake him, but to no prevail. He felt a solid surface.

Suddenly, Jay’s clothes changed weight and he lifted on and off the ground- an interesting contradiction, he thought to himself. It became cold, and his vision became more blurry, as he started to choke on something. He was stuck, in a tank of water. There was a glass surface all around him. As he approached a surface, he realized that there were people on the other side of the glass- seemingly shocked by Jay’s presence. Looking around, he realized where he was- inside the containment of an aquarium. Fish swam around the wall, inspecting it. Jay hugged the wall. He squeezed tight, and slowly felt the energy creep up. He felt the water, and saw the fish around him. Everything became dark.
“Sir? Sir? Are you going to hug that wall all day?” he heard in an english accent. He had opened his eyes to a man in an antique tuxedo looking right at him, questioning his wall-hugging decisions.
“Oh no, I just...” Jay had struggled to find an excuse for why he had been embracing the wall. “I’m fine. Thank you”, he had said. Jay brushed himself off as the man wandered off, still seemingly confused by Jay’s fiasco. As soon as the man was gone, Jay looked around- he seemed to be an england somewhere- in an alley. The brick wall in front of him was now a large tenement. He quickly pressed himself against it- yearning for another adventure. Nothing happened. He squeezed tight, adjusting himself so as much of his body as possible was on the wall, but everything was the same. He tried for hours to get the wall to transport him to another dimension again, but with no favorable outcome. Jay broke down, laying against the wall, dirty, crying. By now it was dark, and he could hear old street cars roaming the town. Another man and lady walked by the alley, laughing. The man had spotted Jay, and stopped, reaching in his pocket. He took some change out, and threw it at the ground by Jay’s feet.
“Good luck Sir.” a man said, and walked away.
Jay looked up- he could see the stars, as they flashed in the night sky.

Then everything happened. In reverse.
