Bullied then Killed
“Eat the cricket, or your backpack goes into the river!” Jordan said as him and his “gang” laughed hysterically.
“G-Give me back my backpack, Jordan!” Ryan whined as the back of his collar was being pulled up by Justin, who is a friend of Jordan’s.
“Huh? What are you going to do? FIGHT?” Justin spat at Jesse, “You’re too big of a wimp to even hurt a fly!” And again, the whole group laughed.
At that moment, Jordan was too tired of watching Ryan just standing there begging for his backpack and wanted to see some action, so Jordan called up Jackie and John to hold Ryan down.
Oh no. What are they doing to me now? Ryan thought in his mind as he was fighting them to extricate from their grips.
-And then he saw it, Jordan was going to force Ryan to eat the cricket! At that point, Ryan had no escape plan and the only thing he could do was to scream, but no one seemed to hear him over the boys’ laughter.
Jordan ordered, ”Justin, open Ryan’s mouth until I tell you to let go, okay?” Justin nodded.
“Open up your mouth, Loserface,” Justin said.
“NOO! STOP! I DEMAND YOU! PLEASE JUST LET ME GO!!” Ryan started to sob, but the others didn't care anything about Ryan, they only cared about “fun”.
When Ryan screamed out those words, Justin grabbed onto Ryan’s jaws and forced it open. “Good job, Justin,” said Jordan who was ready to drop the cricket in Ryan’s mouth.
Ryan was crying and crying really hard while Jordan sang in the tune to “The Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round”, ”The legs of the crickets jump up and down, jump up and down, jump up and down. The legs of the crickets jump up and down all the way to Ryan’s mouth~”
And then, Ryan’s world went blank. He fainted at that moment. Jordan’s gang thought he died from panic, so they ran away from the scene.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Ryan woke up and found himself lying on the grass by himself. The November chills were getting to him as the sun was setting down. He looked around, and then he remembered what had happened. He first quickly spit everything that was in his mouth before he could even taste IT. He strokes his tongue to get the taste off of it, too.
He then heads home.
When he arrived, he went into his stepfather’s bedroom. He was not back home yet. So Ryan concluded that his stepfather went to some sort of club and is getting drunk like every other day.
Ryan goes upstairs to his room and jumps onto his bed. He starts sleeping because of that exhausting day of abuse.
““Eat the cricket, or your backpack goes into the river!”
”Justin, open Ryan’s mouth until I tell you to let go, okay?”
“Open up your mouth, Loserface,”
“NOO! STOP! I DEMAND YOU! PLEASE JUST LET ME GO!!”
”The legs of the crickets jump up and down, jump up and down, jump up and down. The legs of the crickets jump up and down all the way to Ryan’s mouth~””
*GASP* Ryan wakes up. It’s 1:06 in the morning. He had just woken up from a nightmare. Ryan forgot about his backpack!
He lies in bed trying to go back to sleep and trying to convince himself that he can get it some other time, but he can’t. So he goes downstairs and sees that his stepfather is really drunk and he has come back home. He Mr. Yoshida, Ryan’s stepfather, is drunk, he is usually very irascible, so Ryan tiptoes. He quickly, but quietly sneaks out of the house unnoticed.
Ryan runs to the riverside where he was bullied and he went looking for his backpack. But he had no luck in finding it. It was dark outside; there was no light except from the moon.
Ryan followed the river downstream because he thought that his back pack might have had been dropped into the river. Oh no, here we go. Thought Ryan. As he went further downstream, the deeper and more unknown the surroundings were. He had never been this far from his house alone.
As he walks along the stream, he hears a rustle on the ground. Ryan gets startled, but he thought it was just so night creature.
And then …he heard someone humming.
Who would be up this late wandering around the river? Ryan thought.
“Hello? Who’s there?” Said Ryan.
No response. But the humming still continued.
Because of Ryan’s curiosity, he followed the source of the sound. Slowly and quietly went Ryan.
Then, in the distance he could see a woman just standing there…humming…and then, she locks eyes with Ryan.
Ryan gets scared at this sight. The woman figure was slowly walking towards Ryan…and then picking up the pace as she walked and then she started running like a cheetah.
Ryan was really freaked out. He followed the river upstream and ran as fast as he could. But..the woman was much quicker and she was gaining even more speed, and now…at this distance, Ryan could now see the lady running at the speed of with her long black hair flying along with the wind, her pale with face with a red drip of blood coming out of her mouth, her torn dress flapping around, and that knife with gory blood on the sharp blade.
NOW, Ryan was running for his life. He ran as he had never done before. He ran is zigzag thinking that’ll help, but the woman was much smarter and faster.
He was running and running until Ryan slipped on a twig and fell into the raging river. He had never learned how to swim, so he drowned in the cold, freezing river.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………
The next morning, Jordan and his gang go out into the river where they had left Ryan at. But they found no sign of him..so they went looking for him around the river. AND THEN, Justin spotted a body washed along the shoreline.
It was Ryan’s body.
