Barren City

All is still. The dust has finally settled on the charred city. Weeks ago atoms were split and chaos ensued in the once bustling metropolis. Dust now chokes the tranquil city, rising and falling with the sighing of the wind. Once great feats of human engineering now stand hollow and cold in the setting sun. As the giant descends into slumber beyond the horizon, the baked concrete and contorted metal groan under the strain of gravity, wanting to give up and collapse under their own weight. But they don't give in. They know the were built to stand the test of time and that's exactly what they will do. Finally the last bleeding light of day slinks away from the sides of the vast structures gliding silently to the end of the earth leaving only ink black shadows in its wake. All is still in the barren city.
