I thought he knew
Watched him walk up the stairs
The party was just starting
I’m not surprised you left,
But I can’t believe she stayed.
Ping pong table pulled out
Red solo cups sloshing
Music pounding
Sticky floor and
Covered counter tops
Double fisted, I left that out
Kitchen floors aren’t classy
Your phone lights up again,
I know it’s him.
I bet he’s at home alone
You sure aren’t alone.
I thought he knew
Turns out he didn’t.
You knew why he left
You wouldn’t have told him.
I really thought he knew
I don’t know how I got blamed for this.
Your tweets weren’t very nice.
And yes,
I do feel fine at the end of the day.
Maybe it wasn’t my place,
But he deserved to know.
And I really thought he knew.
