The Winning Ticket
It was 5:32pm; I was driving down the road. I’m thinking about what I could do tonight. Before I go home, I need to stop to get some gas. I stop at the nearest “QT”, and go in to pay.

“You buying a lottery ticket tonight ma’am?”, said the geeky guy at check-out. I look at the lottery display case and see that there is only one ticket left.

“Well, I think I might just buy that last lucky ticket!” The guy rang me up and told me to have a good night. When I got home, I reached into my pocket book and pulled out the ticket. I went upstairs to make me a bowl of ABC’s and 123’s to eat while I’m waiting for the news at 11, so I can see if I have the winning lottery ticket. Putting my bowl down for a second, I pick up my ticket. My numbers are 47, 9,61,12,10, and 88 as the Powerball. 11 o’clock finally rolls around, so I turn it to channel 4. I wait and wait for the lottery section to finally come on, and it did.

“Thanks for joining me tonight as I call out the winning numbers”, said the older fellow on TV. I grab my ticket as fast as I could as he read out the numbers.

“The first number is 47!” I get happy while waiting for the next number.

Now we have the number 9!” My heart starts beating faster and faster.

“Our third number is 61!” I am now on the edge of my seat, too excited to notice that I have bit my tongue.

“It looks like we have the number 12 here!” I am now so excited that I fall out of my chair and wait for the next number.

“Our final number is 10!” I jump so far up that I can’t feel my legs! I’m standing here thinking, if I win this Powerball, I win over 1 billion dollars!

“Now, here comes the exciting part. In my hand, is the winning number for the Powerball to win over 1 billion dollars.” I am so nervous that I have butterflies and I feel like I might pee on myself!

 “Okay, the winning number is…….88!”

 “HOLY SHIPWRECK!!!!!!!!
I won! I won! I won! I won! I woooon!” I run around my house doing the happy dance for about an hour. I finally call the lottery place to set up a time to get my money tomorrow. I am too excited to sleep, so I just lay in bed, smiling until I doze off.

The next morning, I woke up, put my clothes on, and everything else to get ready. I get in the car and start to drive off to receive my money. When I finally get there, I walk in and hear music and there are streamers everywhere. There it was, only five steps away; a big check in my name. It was all mine.

“Congratulations!!!” You are now a billionaire! Here you go.” Alright, this is it. I begin to reach for it.

Then I woke up…………… It was all a dream.
