La Llorona
La Llorona
A long time ago back in Mexico lived a lady. She had 10 kids and was a single parent. She soon fell in love with a cholo. The more time they spent together, the more she learned about him. she learned that he doesn’t like kids and would never marry someone with kids. La Llorona did anything and everything to make him happy but she did not get rid of her kids. The week before they got married she drowned her kids just for the cholo. She thought about what she had done and regretted it. Hoping there was some way to bring her children back to life. That night she went around the pueblo crying and weeping. As she went around the pueblo she would say “ Mis hijos, mis hijos”! Non-stop, she wanted her children back but she knew that she could not go back in time. Seen other families with their kids she came up with a plan. If she couldn’t have her kids nobody could. La Llorona went and took other families kids and drowned them so they can feel the pain and sorrow she went through. Nobody knew who took their kids because La Llorona would take them at night, so no one can see her. As years passed the people of the pueblo started to find out who took their kids. La Llorona knew that they were on to her so she gathered her things and left to another pueblo. At the new pueblo, there was a whole bunch of kids. The Llorona was going to do the same thing that she did in the other pueblo, but this time it was going to be slightly different. This time the Llorona would take some of the kids and keep 4 of them and make them look different. She hoped this plan would work so that way she could have her kids back. She knew that it would be hard so she walked in to the pueblo while everyone was asleep, she found an empty house to set her stuff in. She took the kids that she wanted and drowned some of them except for two. The two that she kept she made them look extremely different than what they had looked before. In the morning she heard parents screaming and mothers crying, wondering where their kids went. La Llorona felt bad for what she had done, but did not want to give up. It took a few years for the parents to find out about their kids. That’s when she gave up everything, but still went looking for other kids. The families gathered around a fire and prayed for their kids. The only thing La Llorona heard was “ Santa Maria madre de dios ruega por nuestro gracia. Bendito en los muerte, Amén”. This echoed in her head and she thought about the things that the families went through. You would think that she would stop but she enjoyed the tears and sorrow.
