"Everyone wants happiness,No one wants pain. But, You can't make a rainbow without a little rain."-Anonymous

She studied her face in the mirror. Her green eyes shined from the lighting in the window. Her hair just reached her collar bone, the perfect length for her.Her hair was light brown, which would compliment her light skin tone and freckles that would lay across the surface of her face. She had a smile on her face, but, only she wasn't happy. She applied eyeliner on her eyes, foundation under her eyes to cover up the evidence left behind from crying herself to sleep. Her cheeks was covered in the perfect amount of blush. Her black dress with the white dots hugged her body. The body that was made by a strict diet of one meal a day to keep the "perfect and beautiful" body shape. As the dress reached only a inch above the knee. She wore black pumps. She placed her head band slowly on her head without messing up her straight hair. She stared at the girl in the mirror. For that girl wasn't her. She tried just the other day, a pair of baggy pants and baggy sweater. But, she was already used to the change and had recently lost sight of who she really was. Now, in her childhood, she was "one of the guys" type of girl. She would dress like a guy and be mistaken as one as well. Her friends dressed like girls, got compliments from guys and was skinny. She wanted the attention. She changed her style, dyed her hair, lost some of her weight form "dieting". She's called pretty and cute, got the attention she wanted. But, She has to wear a fake smile and show happiness that isn't even there. She wants to go back to the old her but, she'd lost to much of herself that she can't. So, she goes about her day like some kind of zombie with no emotions and pleases everybody everyday, forgetting to please the only person that really should be happy and that really matters... Herself.

I wrote this piece because i am that girl, I don't look exactly as descried in this piece, But, i was one of the guys throughout school until I changed in high school for the same reason as the girl in my writing did.I wanted people to get that they should never lose themselves because honestly, being yourself is the best person anyone is gonna know and that you would ever be.
