The Unwanted Pig

There once was a pig, a very unwanted pig who never meant anyone harm, but was never wanted by anyone. Everywhere he went he was shunned and rejected. It wasn’t necessarily even his fault, but no matter where he was or what he said, he was always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Trouble always followed the poor little pig. He did his best to be friends with all the other pigs, but they just didn’t want to be around him. Feeling shunned, the poor little pig decided to leave to find where he belonged. He had heard of a magical place over the hills where all little pig outcasts could go and lived in peace and harmony without judgment or rudeness.

He traveled long and far, day and night, in heat and cold. The time finally came where the pig stood before the great door to the place of his dreams. Although the pig was overjoyed to finally be here, his journey was not a peaceful one.

But none of that mattered now. The pig made it to his final destination, the place of his dreams, his very own land of milk and honey. All of the fruits of his labors lay before him. The place was a large brownish-red wooden building with a gray roof and two doors as large as 100 pigs stacked on top of each other and three times as wide.

The pig felt an overwhelming sense of pride and joy for this was the greatest moment in his life. As he tried to absorb this momentous occasion, he started looking for a way in and noticed that the door was slightly ajar. So he pushed the door open with all of his little might. The door begrudgingly opened and what the pig saw he could not believe.

It was a Utopia entirely of misfit pigs. They all have their reason to be here and they all live in harmony. They don’t judge each other or shun differences, they welcome them. They welcomed the little pig into their society with open hooves. The little pig enjoyed a life of acceptance and friendship among the other pigs as they all lived happily ever after. At least that is the way the little pig wished this story ended.

What he really saw as he entered that barn was a dim nothingness. The door behind him glided shut and with a large slam the wooden door latch fell between the doors sealing his only way out. The pig quickly glanced around but all was dark and dirty. There were hooks hanging from the ceiling and cleavers hanging o the wall. The pig started frantically dashing around looking for a way out. Soon the pig stopped moving when he was in the center of the room. The pig slowly started backing up from the sight of this when he bumped into something. He turned around to see what it could be. Standing before the poor little pig loomed a tall man with gloves and wearing an apron He had fire red eyes and an evil grin upon his face, with a large shining butcher’s knife, the man towered over the pig. At that very moment the pig was filled with dread and regret. He wondered what could’ve been if he had stayed at the farm. He might’ve had the opportunity to have been adopted, or maybe could’ve met someone new. Not staring the very essence of death and the devil in the face. The man raised his butcher’s knife, but the pig was paralyzed with fear. With his murderous grin he said softly “Squeal little piggy.”

No one would ever see, hear from, or even care about that poor little piggy ever again. Maybe he deserved it, mabey he didn’t. Who’s to say after all, But the story of the poor little pig DID touch the hearts of the little barn yard animals. It was used as a lesson to keep the little ones from running away and talk to someone about their feelings. Moral? Don’t run off to find something different. You just may find it.

A somewhat dark moralistic story.
