Shoelace
Shoelace
The last thing I can remember was all the days over days, months over months, and years over years of pure torture. Imagine the biggest person in the whole wide world, stepping over you, every single day since kindergarten through 3rd grade. The terror, the scars I have. But he would never give me a break! Every time he got a new pair of shoes he would switch me on them. He called me his lucky charm. Never giving me some rest. But now things have changed, maybe this time I will get my well-deserved rest. It all started on Tuesday morning, I felt exhausted from basketball practice last night. He was getting ready for school… so he gave me a great big tug and off we went. After lunch I felt myself loose and an annoying, clumsy little girl came and stepped on my aglet. I let a huge cry. Anyways that didn’t matter because my owner had fallen. I couldn’t even look at him straight in the eye. But still took a glance at him, his face read disappointment. I felt ashamed, I had let me owner down. And now I wake up the employee at Footlocker looking over me with a disgusted face. He’s telling my owner and his mom that it was time for a change... me and my owner said our goodbyes and I apologize... he accepted it with a smile. Now I felt satisfied. Finally rest and peace!
