crash

Red, orange, and yellow lights fading in and out, sudden quick flashes are all I see from behind my eye lids. My ears are ringing and the sounds of distant sirens fill them, making the ring louder and louder with every foot that they get closer. I grab my ears and hit the ground. I begin to cry, the ringing is too much. A sharp pain shoots through my leg and up my spine. I look down reluctantly and see my leg is covered in blood, my blood. I slowly uncover my right ear but quickly cover it again. The sirens were unbearable to hear. The lights were blinding my eyes; I shut them and never open them again. Next thing I know I feel my body being lifted off the ground and a cool mist of water hits me. It burns at first when it hits my open leg then beings to make it feel better. I’m scared to open my eye and to remove my hands from my ears but someone does it for me. I’m on a gurney now rolling towards an ambulance.
An EMT is shining a light in my eye I shut them instantly. She uncovers my ears the ringing is louder than ever. I fight to cover them but they strap me down. I yell and scream but they just tighten the straps. I want out, but I need help. They hold me down and inject some kind of medicine into me. I feel a rush of relief as the shut the door. I shut my eye slowly and feel the ambulance take off. I’m being taken to the hospital. The ink to myself. What if I had died? What if they hadn’t gotten here in time to save me? I feel at peace.
