Your Presence Shakes The Insignificance Of My Soul

Built a shell for me of iron
To hide and to hurt in
Ragged segmented remains of a supposed self
Bared and took me with them
When they fell they looked like stones

Darkness crawled and seized in me
Flexing in a morbid void of deep water
I rescued her wounded hatred tenderly
Broken hands caressed the screams
Ripping and tearing to dip my fingers in
Paint myself in this insanities armor

And you were standing higher
More for my raising, my adoration
Looking level within these hollow eyes
Catching my remains with patient words
My hardness unraveled in ribbons before you

Shed such unnecessary skin
To look out from in
Given me the pieces for all my own gain
Dressed and took me with them
When they loved they looked like doves
