We will mend

The need seeps through her like a drug,
Knife to skin creating the simple tug she loves,
She shoves it deeper,
All those words will become her reaper,

Empty stomach,
Mirror in hand,
Nothing ever goes as planned,
Twenty pounds within the week,
And now all she can do is weep,

Bullet beneath the wound,
His life never to be found,
All the pain he was forced to endeavor,
Now surrounds the ones he thought were clever,

Poison meets blood,
She hits the floor with a simple thud,
Pills weakening her system,
Eating her to the core,
The tears pour out,
As she wonders,
Who will be the one to walk through that door,

Taut rope around his neck,
Ending the wreckage he sorts through each day,
He's done living in this world of grey,
To him this was the only way,

Their lives are gone and now you care,
But when they needed you the most,
You tortured them on a dare,

How many will we let go,
What do we have to show,
You could lie or try to deny,
But to them it cost their life,

How many times,
Until you say no,
How many times,
Until you help stop the crimes,

How many more will have to hurt,
Until someone helps reassert,
You can pretend its ok,
But the reality is,
Another life has gone away,

You can begin again,
Don't look at their lives with disdain,
Its time to go away,
In the end,
We will mend...

"This will certify that the above work is completely original."
