Super Smash

January 17, 2009
“Okay, I love playing Super Smash with you, but I'm too sucky,” I complained to my younger brother. He grinned at me when I admitted it.

“I know.” We were playing against each other on a custom stage- complete with springs, spikes, jail cells, and other completely random items. It was hilarious because we mostly died from falling through the cracks instead of killing each other.

“Can we play on a normal stage?”

“If you want.” He set the game up and we battled two random computers on level nine. As usual, he did most of the work, but I still enjoyed the game by throwing smart bombs and cooking people in my pot. Like usual, we won the game.

My favorite character is Kirby. My brother's changes spontaneously and often. It seems like I'm just getting used to it when he changes it yet again.

I was introduced to Super Smash when I first moved to America by my best friend. I played with her and her sister often and beat every character on level nine after attempting a good amount of times. But it was fun and that was all that really mattered.

On my brother's birthday, my best friend gave us the game Super Smash. We were all ecstatic and immediately began to play a game.

The best thing about the game is that you can play by yourself or with other people, which is always more fun. You can also challenge other people and you don't even have to be that good to play. You can still have fun and lose by screwing around. Screwing around is half the fun. There's also little features, story mode, and a million other things that I have yet to explore. But four years later, I still love Super Smash

“One more game?”

I thought on it. “Sure.”

This is not really a game-review, more of a short chapter of an autobiography. If you want to make this a game review, I recommend that you get other people`s thoughts on the game, write down some of the best things of the game, then add some extra stuff like some of the extra items/weapons, levels, characters, etc. Then add some stuff that you thought about the game. After hundreds of hours of practice, you will eventually get it drilled into your head: People`s thoughts, Your thoughts, Main Re... (more »)

its only a button masher if you are unskilled in the art of smash and resort to 1 move over and over. so many combos can be set up through smart choices and good timing.

as much fin as this game is, i honestly cant wait for the new smash bros. it is going to have mega man (my favorite character of nintendo EVER), rosalina, villager (from animal crossing), and the wii fit  trainer (odd). but i honestly think the new smash will be better.

I play super smash bros brawl, not melee. It has better graphics and way more characters like sonic and snake.

it isn't that skilful a game
it's basically just another hyped-up button-basher with quality being compromised by the sheer amount of characters and their moves
yeah, it's a bit of fun to mindlessly obliterate foes without actually knowing exactly how you're doing it, but as a game it ain't something to get too excited over

sorry if i appear pessimistic or anti-social - that's just my humble opinion and you're welcome to challenge it

I know how you feel, I don`t get the logic of it either

@frantastikid I disagree with you. Even though you can just spam and button mash. To be really skilled you need to create strategy and know what all the buttons do. Just look at the pros. I believe that this game has a middle between skill and luck (especially with items). However going no items on final destination there is little luck involved and again, to be truly good you need to not just button mash

I like the game too. I also play with my brother, although in my case, I almost always win! Not that my brother will admit it :-)

Let him win sometimes, eventually he will get bored and not play anymore. Don`t let him think your letting him though, otherwise it will crush his fun even more.
