Sarah Dessen is such a wonderful author. She writes novels that are so easy to relate to for teenage girls. "Dreamland" is no exception. It deals with a teenage girl who has family issues. A girl that has always had to live up to her older sister's accomplishments. A girl that never felt good enough. Until she met a boy. And that boy made her fall head over heels in love. Love that ultimately could have turned deadly. Sarah Dessen writes about a teenage girl in an abusive relationship. A touchy subject, but it's real. She's so in love with him that she tries to block out the pain and the bruises. He changes her so much, and not for the better. But she gets in so deep that she doesn't know what to do or how to get out or if she could get out. It's such a good book. Definately a page turner. As well as a good life lesson to learn: love should never hurt. And that is that.
