Restaurant Review, Pomo Pizzeria
Pomo Pizzeria Review
Walking through the big glass doors into Pomo Pizzeria Napoletana, I could already smell the delicious pizza. Not only did the fresh tomato and basil filling the air make an impact, but also the atmosphere. The atmosphere was very appealing and made you feel like you were in Italy. The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was the chefs in the kitchen throwing up pizzas. I thought having the kitchen in view for all customers to see the pizzas being made, was a fun idea to entertain children. Another thing that stood out was the fresh bright basil growing on the walls. It was a great touch to Italian restaurant. I had warm vibes from the moment I entered from all the workers. It is nice to walk into a restaurant and see everyone cleaned up nicely in formal dress and waiters in all black, with gleaming smiles on their face.
On our way to be seated at the table, I felt even more like I was in the heart of Italy. We walked by a gorgeous, black and white mural on the wall that looked exactly like a tiny and cramped alley in Italy, with people on scooters. Next, I heard a cheerful outburst in Italian come from a tall and tan man who was greeting people at the tables. This would be Stefeno, the owner of the pizzeria. He makes everyone feel like his family when he greets them with a huge hug and kiss on the cheek.
We were seated at a round table in the corner which was perfect to visit with everyone. Our server was very helpful and patient with my indecisive dad trying to pick a pizza from their large selection. The menu had more than fifteen varieties of pizza for us to choose from, which was a great attribute. The pizza selection included gluten free pizza and white sauce pizza as well. The unique thing about this pizzeria is that they have Neapolitan Pizza which is prepared a specific way in a wood-fired oven. Our waiter explained that the oven is set at 950 degrees Fahrenheit; it only takes about 90 seconds for the pizza to be cooked. That blew my mind away. Neapolitan pizza is thin crust and has very tender dough. The pizza was some of the best pizza I have ever had before; the ingredients were filled with fresh flavor. I was so stuffed after having the pizza I could not even think about dessert until I saw the dessert menu. There selections of dessert drew me in and I couldn't let this one pass, I gave in and definitely do not regret it.
Looking around it seemed like the place to be on weekend nights, I would assume week nights as well. It was a fully occupied restaurant that had quite a few people waiting for a table to open. Walking out I told them that it is no doubt worth the wait. As we were leaving, there was an Italian man handing out bread samples and selling olive oil. I thought that is so clever to do; to be able to offer to customers while they wait for a table. Peeking at the patio before I left, encouraged me to come back and get a table outside while it is still nice out. It was cozy and quain including two large fire pit areas set up as a lounge where you could sit back and relax. On my way out I felt satisfied with the dinner and to put the cherry on top of the wonderful experience, the hostess made sure to ask us how everything was and thanked us for coming. Pomo is the perfect place to go for a birthday celebration or even an enjoyable date. The atmosphere works with all kind of dinning situations.
Overall the restaurant is ranked high in my books. I highly recommend this restaurant if you in the mood for a warm slice of pizza or even a fresh bowl of salad topped with bright vegetables. All their food appears just as delicious and appetizing as it tastes. Also the service was beyond welcoming and helpful. They have an upbeat environment, with mouthwatering food, the value and quality was all topnotch. You will not leave this restaurant with an empty stomach. The serving portions are more than satisfying. It is great that they take reservations as well; assuring you will be able to have a table for the night. I may even try their take out menu for lazy nights at home when I am craving their tasteful thin crust and delicious pizza. From when we walked through the door until we left the beautiful building, it was an unforgettable dinner.
