Change by Sophia Sagar is a memoir of a girl at Best Buy trying to buy headphones, however, ran into an unexpected surprise. While at Best Buy, she saw a homeless woman and smiled at her. This led to the homeless woman asking her for help, not knowing she was only 15. Sophia gave her what she had in her wallet, which was a few coins. When she left to buy water for the lady, the lady was gone. This piece captured Sophia’s experience very well.

This memoir was very heartwarming and made me feel good inside. The story of how a fifteen-year-old girl helped a homeless woman tugs at my heartstrings and really opened my eyes. It’s very rare to see people being nice to homeless people, especially in the bustling city of New York. It was really nice to read about how the homeless woman helped Sophia’s heart grow when it seemed like it was the other way around.
