Dear Veteran,
My name is Tanner J. and I attend high school in Hartland, Wisconsin. I am writing to you because I’ve had three uncles who served during World War ll and I know how much it means to them to receive a letter of gratitude. Two fought in the Pacific and the other fought during the Normandy invasions. I’m proud to know and say that my family fought for their country. I also am writing to thank you for your service in the military. I thank you for putting your own life in danger to protect our many freedoms in the U.S. that I am privileged to have. Your service has given me freedom. Freedom to me is being able to pursue the dreams of being what I desire. Weather it may be happiness, a profession, or a religion. I get to go to school and get an education and decide how I want to live. That is why freedom is great because it makes America greater than the rest of the countries in the world. Most countries can’t control their own way of life like in the U.S. For that I thank you for selflessly fighting to protect our way of life.
Thank you,
Tanner J.
