         “LOST”

“Help! Mom! Where are you?!” As I walked further I felt the crunch of the black gravel underneath me. Scared. Helpless. Confused. The sky was dark and grey, the sun was leaving and the moon was taking it’s course. The carousel was taking it’s last round……..

It was the middle of June and me and my family were taking our year-round trip to one of the greatest places a kid could go.The fair! We go every year, so it was nothing different the usual routine. Me and siblings were going on every ride. Except the spinny ones.I wasn’t messing with those ones. We had sat down to eat at this burger places when me and my brother had spotted this really cool ride it lit up in blue and red blinking lights. It had a big square box attached to the holders so that is was in the air.

“ Mom can me and Kyleah go ride that?” My brother pointed over to the ride.

“Yea sure go ahead, aye keep an eye on your sister ok?” My mom questioned my brother.
“Yeah yeah ok whatever, c’mon Kyleah.” My brother stated hurriedly.

“I mean it.”My mom said firmly a little demanding.

“Ok.” My brother whispered dragging my arm to the ride. This would be our last ride for the year,so we had to make the best of it. But best believe this was going to be a ride to remember……………

As we got closer to the ride my blood started pumping and my heart felt like it was going to burst right out of my body. I wasn’t sure about this ride. This monstrous looking ride.

There was a long line and we were already halfway to the front and the closer we got the more I wanted to run to the hills. This ride would be the death of me. It made a loud screeching noise every time it would go into the air,and it looked like it was going to fall off the bars holding it up at any second. There was no turning back now, I had to face it. This was the end.

   Or was it.

“Um Marqkell I’m not to sure about this.” I tried pleading my voice shaky and nervous.

“You don’t want to get on anymore?”He asked concerned.

“No I think I’ll pass.” I responded skittishly looking at the ride that could possibly  make my heart stop.

“Ok I’ll be right back I’m gonna go tell mom, stay here and save my spot.”

“Wait don’t leave me here!” I cried gesturing my hands at the line.

“Oh you’ll be fine.”He nonchalantly answered walking away.

And with that he was gone.

Here I was by by myself a seven year old. Alone. At the fair.

As I looked around I eventually see my mom and the rest of the family turning a corner. I wasn’t thinking I didn’t care if marqkell couldn’t get his spot back all I cared about was seeing my mom and being in her arms. I ran. I didn’t stop. I wasn’t going to stop.

As soon as I saw them turn a corner they were gone. I stopped looking around there was no sign of the ride that once stood before me. There was no sign of my family.

“Help! Mom where are you!?” I shouted in pure terror.

As I walked further, I felt the crunch of the black gravel underneath me. Scared. Helpless. Confused. The sky was getting dark and grey. The sun was leaving and the moon was taking it’s course. The carousel was taking it’s last round.

I was lost.

I kept shouting  for my mom, my brother, for anybody.

What if i never get found. What if I stay here forever. I went up against the cotton  candy stand and slid down and cried, and cried.
When all of the sudden someone with big arms pulls me up.

“Kyleah where were you!?” A lady that I think is my mom but my eyes were covered in tears and i hate to say probably snot to see.

“Ooohh come here it’s ok I’m here, I’m here.”Ok now I was sure this was my mom I had recognized her scent.
Now I’m pretty sure I had got snot all over her shirt but I didn’t care and I’m pretty sure she didn’t either.
“C’mon honey let’s go home” My mom said.

When we had got home my brother chewed me out.

‘NEXT TIME STAY IN THE SPOT I LEFT YOU IN!” My brother shouted at me.

“WELL IF YOU WOULDN’T HAVE LEFT ME THERE I…….I...I.

My emotions were getting the best of me. C’mon Kyleah keep it together. All of the sudden the waterworks were streaming down and it wasn’t going to stop. I quickly felt my brothers arms wrap around me.

“ it’s ok Kyleah it’s just that you really scared me next time just stay where I left you OK?” My brother asked.

“Ok.” I gently responded

We hugged for a long time and it felt good.

Best believe next time I wouldn’t go and wander off.
