I want to be a Youth Pastor, just like how people want to learn how to fly. Freedom means to me that I can be a Christian and talk to people about my beliefs. It means that I can get the education to do anything I could dream of and to accomplish my calling.

Religious freedom is something I would never be able to live without. Nothing means more to me than believing that Jesus Christ came to this Earth and died to save us from our sins. If I told this story in North Korea, Somalia, or Iraq I would be persecuted. Recently a girl there was brutally beat when her siblings found out that she became Christian. If she had not of blacked out for a few minutes, they would have beat her until she was dead. Living in a free country means that I do not have to be afraid of getting killed every time I speak about my religion. Some people still might decide to come after me for believing in what I believe in, but that is okay.

Education is very important to me.  Luckily I am a girl who lives in the United States who can go to school. It is there that I learn how to count, read, write, and much more. When I get older I would love to continue my education at Indiana Wesleyan University. Three things I would major in at this college are the Bible, Youth Ministry, and Christian Ministry. All around the world, girls are not given these same privileges. In countries like Niger, they are unable to get an education at all. During the day, they are taught the proper ways to maintain a household, so that they can be prepared for early marriage. These girls are married early not for the sake of their own happiness, but because they have no choice. They have no control over their own lives.

Thank you to the veterans who have fought for my freedoms. To go out and fight knowing that your life might change or that you won’t return home, is courage I cannot compare to. With a great education and an amazing belief in God, I can reach my goal of becoming a Youth Pastor.
