Be Inspired
“She turned her can’ts into cans and her dreams into plans”
I see this painting and I think about all the amazing things that life can behold for those who just reach out and work for them. There are many clichés that float around on social media, classrooms and sports locker rooms about how all dreams in life can be attainable if one is willing to push themselves to all limits to achieve them. As cliché as these sayings may seem, I agree with them 100%. If I were to see myself now 3 years ago, I would have never pictured myself as a straight A student, a varsity gymnast, and a compassionate person that dedicates a lot of their time to volunteer work with dogs. 3 years ago I was just a girl who did okay in school, had recently undergone surgery after a bad accident with no idea if athletics could ever be possible again, and could care less about volunteering or getting into a good college. In a lot of ways, this picture reminds me of myself and all the dreams of mine I have been able to accomplish. In life, everything you could ever want and more is right in front of you if you are willing to reach out and grab them, much like the hands stretching towards the dreamcatchers in the artwork. This I believe wholeheartedly. Everyday I am thankful for what I have accomplished, and I will continue to be inspired by my wildest dreams and do whatever I can to achieve them.
