Tears
They say there are tears for every occasion. There are tears of joy for when you’re so happy you don’t know how to express it. There are tears of sadness for when it hurts so much and you just don’t want to say it. And the worst, tears of uncertainty. Some people don’t know what these are. Well, they are the most personal kind of tears one could have. Because uncertainty is something only you can feel and no one else can feel for you. You can be happy or sad at any moment for anyone. But uncertainty isn't a shared emotion.
The worst feeling in the world, when don’t know what is to come next, makes you hate yourself sometimes. Makes you feel all your problems are your fault. It feels like no one cares and you just want to hide away yourself hoping no one notices what you’re going through. You put on brave because you know no one feel they way you’re feeling. Frustration takes over and you’re suddenly mad at the world. Wondering what you did to feel this kind of pain.
I know how this feels. Wanting to always hide and hope your mask just doesn't fall off. I wonder if anyone even cares that I care. Hope never falls into play until you realize how stupid what you’re uncertain about is. But then you never build up the courage to tell anyone and the secrets just and wait. Wait for someone to care or know what you’re going through. But most of the time they die, only to be brought up when the other uncertainties come around. Before you know it, a large pile of secrets lie in the back of your mind waiting to be shouted to the world that will either accept you or hate you because of it.
Tears are powerful. More powerful than anyone could ever imagine. They can mean the best. They can be the worst. And sometimes, they are the reminder of every little thing you've ever done coming back to haunt you.
