This I Believe
I believe in always trying my hardest to achieve the best that I can in life, so that every obstacle will become easy. I was always taught that if I wanted goals that I had to work for it because I never earned my goals easily or free.
I believe to always try my hardest because I was told that if I do my best on any job then every other job would seem much easier. If I try my hardest I will be successful at almost any adventure in life. For example, my dad told me when I was crawfishing to always work hard, in the end I will have better. He said, “Put out as many crawfish traps out as I can, it might be hard to run the extra traps, but in the long run it will work better for me.” This has helped me because I tried my hardest, and put all of my time into crawfishing, and I caught three extra sacks, which is $240. I also have been getting in shape because crawfishing is hard work. I am making more money since my dad has told me to work harder. With the extra sacks of crawfish, I can afford to keep one sack to eat with my parents. With that being said, it shows me that what my dad taught me actually is true.
Another reason that I believe in trying my hardest is because I was sweeping my house, but I wanted to finish early to go play football with my friends. I half-assed the job to sweep the floors, but it all looked clean. Later that day when I got back from playing football, my mom was waiting on the steps for me to get home; boy, did I ever get chewed out. She was cussing and flipping out because I didn’t sweep the floors the right way. She thought I finished early, so she swept behind me to make sure. She learned that I didn’t sweep the whole floor. I learned my lesson because the next couple of times I swept the floors, she stood right behind me, to make sure I swept every spot. I felt embarrassed, and she didn’t let me go out with my friends until I finished every chore.
The last reason I believe in trying my hardest is because my baseball coach told me that if I always give 100 percent at practice, it would all pay off in the game. This is true because when I didn’t try at practice then I didn’t try as hard in the games.
