Referral

I came home from school and i’m really tired. I throw my bookbag on the floor, and as i pass by the phone i see the red light blinking telling me i got a message, i press the button to see what were the messages, I press the button to see what were the messages, the first message was about my grandfather complaining on how we don’t call him as soon as he gets this message, the second message was from my uncle Luis to my dad, and to call him as soon as he gets this message, and the third message was from my school, immediately my heart jumped, and i stood there patiently listening. The message said “ Your son Bryant” then suddenly all i hear is keys, and the house door opening, Next thing i know my mom was inside the house, and all i hear from the message is “ received a detention for being late and didn't served it, and so he has received a referral, thank you. “ after my mom heard that she walked in very slowly looking at me, and then began to talk to me about my responsibility and how i need to begin being early to school, next thing i know, shes talking about my grades are always horrible, and how i’m going to be a failure in life, i stood there quietly listening with a serious face, she told me she wasn't going to let me go out for a week, as if the the referral wasn't bad enough. I try to tell her how i had a very important skateboarding competition to attend on the weekend, but she didn't care, and she went on with the punishment, and then she said “ and get ready by an hour we going to parent teacher conference” . My mom is always overdoing it, she is always arguing about everything and anything, my dad on the other hand wouldn't have cared, he barely pays attention to what is going on in the house. An hour passed and we took the four train to the school, we went into the school and got my report card. All my classes were above eighty except for my writing teacher Mr. Clarke who gave me a seventy in his class, but other then that all my other teachers said good things about my behavior and the way i act in their class. This was good because my mom was impressed, and so walking home my mother told me i wasn't punish anymore, and so now i could go to the competition on Saturday. This punishment came at the right time because if parent teacher conference was after the punishment i would have still been punish. So i’m pretty lucky that the call came in that day, and i also need to start checking the detention list after school, because even if the teacher didn't give me a detention slip, i might end up in the list.
