A Broken Promise

The words left your mouth like the petals of a dandelion in the wind.
Effortlessly, and without care on who or what it ends up going to.
The words that I never thought I’d hear you say to someone else because I have that trust in you.
I should say had now. I could never trust you again.
After all the words you said to me, assuring and reassuring me that no one would find out.
The spoken secret. Now turned into the knowledge of the public.
A broken promise, and a broken friendship is all that we're left with.
