l spent half of my winter break in upstate New York and l can concur that there is nothing more beautiful than waking up to a world covered in a blanket of snow. When l went up there l was determined to see snow, though my aunt said to keep my expectations low because they had been having an unusually warm winter. l checked the forecast daily within two weeks until my trip in hopes that instead of seeing a sun emoticon, l would see a little snowflake. l began to lose hope as the days went on and l saw little more than a patch of ice. lt wasn’t until the second to last day that l was poked awake by my aunt. l woke and looked out the icy window, sleep still in my eyes. What l saw was white. Pure, untouched snow blanketed the entire forest. lt was like nothing l had ever seen before. l quickly threw on every layer of clothing l could possibly think of and rushed outside to play in it. Snowmen were made, snowball fights were had, and l was living in pure and utter snowy bliss.
