Our Eyes

My dad, my brother, and I have eyes the color of seaweed in the Caribbean Sea. But my mom has eyes the color of sparkling crystals, enchanting and mesmerizing. The colors that make me want to listen more. The colors that make me feel jealous. However, each of our eyes tell a story.

My dad’s eyes are two working frogs. Hopping from one task to another and managing a family along the way.

My mom’s eyes are elegant and tough. Looking so pristine with her jewelry matching the crystal colored eyes, yet ready to unleash momma bear at any moment.

My brothers eyes are like two kids laughing, making the room smile with his jokes only I can understand.

My eyes are like green vipers inside a cage with long black bars surrounding them. With the anticipation of not knowing what the vipers will do.

Our eyes, all related, and yet so different.
