My Generation
My generation is okay. I liked the Leave it to Beaver generation better. When you could go to the soda shop and ask the soda jerk for an ice cream or soda. I liked that generation better. Back then there was so much less stuff you had to worry about. Life ran way more smooth. The mother would stay at home all day and cook and clean the house without a worry in the world. The father would go to work all day then get home around dinner time and eat with his family. After dinner the father read the newspaper (still in his suit and tie) and just enjoy himself. The children in that day said yes ma’am and yes sir to their mother and father because that’s the respectful thing to do. They drove around the coolest cars back in that day like a cadillac with big fins on the back. The children would walk home alone from school alone when they were in the second grade and the mother and father wouldn’t worry at all. They didn’t have any electronics besides a typewriter which made school work a lot more challenging. Instead of looking up a math problem on the internet you had to actually figure it out yourself. It was a challenge and I love a challenge. That was a great generation.
