The Best Things In Life
Nothing tangible is ever indestructible, they will inevitably breakdown and crumble under the passages of time and become nothing but a mere memory, so I’ve never come to a conclusion that these tangible wonders deserve first place in our imaginary list of the best things in life because the best things last and deserve to last.
I will never forget the feeling of safety wrapped in my mother’s arms or the pure happiness felt when my dad with his scratchy unshaved beard kisses me on the cheek or the simple gratitude felt towards nature for the tangible beauty around me.
I’ve always wondered what made life worth living, what infinite, indestructible marvel made the pains and troubles of life all worth it.
It’s the feelings that matter, the sensations, the memories. Those last, those are boundless and never ending. Even if the actual physical thing happened to come and go in a second you’re always left with a memory, a memory that even if you are no more will still remain in the air or with a countless number of other people, in drawings and in writing. Because those are forever.
