A time when I stood by and watch something happen I was seventeen. Standing by and watching someone getting bullied is a terrible feeling. I stood by and watched my friend’s car keys getting thrown around.
I just finished a soccer games and my friend short Maya came to see me play. She is not tall but not short. She wore a red sweater and dark blue jeans and black Converse. I was wearing my blue uniform with white pants and soccer cleats. I was putting a blue guard rail away by the locker room.  After I put away the guard rail I saw Maya. She was running between the three boys trying to get her car keys. For a second it looked like she was looking at me when she was standing there. The boys were all tall and they all wore the blue uniforms. The boys were all yelling, “throw them here.” The boys continued throwing around the keys and she kept trying to get them went for a while until the principal Mr. Roberts stepped in and he got the keys and gave them to her. He was as tall as the boy and he was wearing a green shirt that said Green Valley on it. He said to the boys, “If I see you guys bullying someone again you will be in my office.”
I felt horrible for standing there. As I was standing by watching it happen I felt my stomach tighten. My body was telling me to go help but I didn’t listen to it. I was more thinking of I’m going to get in trouble I didn’t want to get in trouble for tackling someone to the ground. Also I didn’t want to tackle someone and get them hurt or hurt myself because I’m not that tall. Lastly, I felt like she would be mad at me for not stepping in and helping her because when they were throwing around the keys it looked like she stop for a second and stared at me.
I would do it differently next time.  I would not just stand there and watch it play out. I would go get an adult, like the principal, and have them help me get the keys from the boys.  The principal has the authority to take charge of the situation.
Bullying is not a good thing so, help to stop it. Don’t stand by and watch someone get bullied HELP THEM!!!
