Dear,

I wasn’t forced to carry this if you want to know the truth I wanted to carry it to try and set myself apart from the average people. After having it for some time i started losing it bit by bit and when that started happening it turned from me wanting to carry it into me needing to carry it. Even though its something you can neither feel nor hold it will always be a part of me almost like a second mindset.

One of the most important people in my life showed me this thing. He is a man who is built like an ox but has the brains of a certified genius, who can be very intense and passionate in what he does. This man holds every bit of my respect and love and will always hold a permanent spot in my heart. When he has his mind set to something  he goes above and beyond my imagination in the things he achieves. Although most people see him as a normal everyday man I see him as a superhero flying with the wind to his back. He is my dad and I owe it all to him for teaching me to carry what I do today. (S.P)

You may be asking yourself what do you carry? I carry a passion for hard work. People may be laughing at it but today I wouldn’t be the person I am today had I not had it. It’s not just carried when I’m doing something I like it’s all the time mainly when I’m doing things that I hate doing. I always try to work harder than the person next to me which then in turn hopefully makes them want to work harder, so its not just helping me. This helps me in everything I do and helps me overcome obstacles that those with normal mindsets wouldn’t be able to.

Here is an example of where this helps me. The smell of freshly mowed grass fills your nostrils as you inhale deeply on this warm saturday afternoon. The sound of coaches voice erupts bring you conversations with teammates to an abrupt stop. He begins to fill you in on what will happen during today’s practice. After hearing all the information you turn on that little switch in your head that tells you to do everything at full potential. You sprint out to your position on the diamond ready to take your flaws head on. When the practice comes to an end your legs are aching and your forehead is covered in a layer of sweat. You feel accomplished and ready to take on the rest of the day with confidence. (S.Pl)

Sometimes I stop and think to myself why on earth do people just throw away this thing when they are pursuing a goal. Then it hits me they must not care about whatever it is they are doing. I always try to care about what I do and I try to do it to the best of my ability, I hope you do to.

                                   Sincerely,

                                               Luke
