Unexpected Things

Early Morning Gerard walks to school, he stopped by his best friend’s house, like always. “TING DONG” the doorbell rang.

“Aaron? Gerard is here,” yelled Nina Aarons mom.

“Okay, coming! Aaron run down the stairs and open the door.
hey good morning,” said Aaron.

“Good morning,” Gerard respond as he shake Aaron’s hand.

“Bye mom love you!”yelled Aaron as he close the door.

The two boys walks to school together, they are in the same class and have the same school schedule.
“Lunch time guys! don’t forget your home works. Lets go!,”yelled Mr. Rivera in his noisy students.

Gerard and Aaron walks down the hall and into the cafeteria. as Aaron open the door the smell of hot pizza and he noisy people surprise the two.

“Wow I’ve never seen the cafeteria this noisy before,” said Aaron

“what? I can’t hear you!,” Gerard yelled as loud as he can

“maybe we should get out of here!,” Aaron respond

The two walks out of the cafeteria and into the empty hall:

“Hey? um… what do you want to be when you graduate?” asked Aaron

“Um… I want to be a better person, I want to be a businessman,” replied Gerard

“What? I thought you want to a nurse?,” said Aaron

Yeah, but I’m sick and tired of taking care of people man! It’s too much work for me… Gerard Replied nervously as he scratch his head..

“But you’re better at taking care of people! you take good care of your Father,” said Aaron

Gerard look down and said, “I hate to see people suffer,”

The bell rings for the next period, the two walks to their next class when Jerard’s phone rings:

“Hello?,” he answered

“Hi Mr. Gerard right?,” ask the officer on the phone

“Yes… what is this about?,” ask Gerard

“This is police officer Sgt. Martin, I’m sorry to tell you that your mom is in critical condition, his in St. Luke Hospital 108 st. 10483 room # 553, get in here now I already called your teachers and your principal, there is a police car waiting for you outside the school plate number NYP 578,”

“ok ok I’m comin,” sai Gerard
“um Aaron I need to go,”

why? what happened? ask Aaron

“I’ll explain it to you later,”mumbled Gerard as he run down the hall

Gerard got in the police car and he ask? officer? what happen to my mom?
The officer scratch his head and said:” I’m sorry kid I… I don’t know,” the officer replied sadly

when arrive in the hospital Gerard jump out of the car and run down to her mom’s room:

“Gerard… you’re here,” said Ms. santos

“mom? what happen to you?,” ask Gerard

She take a deep breath and said: “I was on my way home when (tears run down her face) a car in a wrong way slam into me, they said that the driver of that car is dead I’m lucky I survive,”

A week later her mother sadly died, Gerard is left responsible for his dad

“hey Gerard what”s up man? you’ve been absent for 3 weeks in a row, what”s wrong?,” Ask Aaron

“I...I don't know,” Gerard replied

“you know if you need something just ask me I’ll be here for you,” replied Aaron.

“just leave me alone !please,” yelled Gerard

“Hey? you know what ? I don’t wanna be your friend anymore,” replied Aaron as he walks away from Gerard

“what is wrong with me,”? Gerard ask himself

“HELP! HELP! HELP!,” yield MR.santos as he crawl in the floor

Gerard run towards his dad, but his too late… His dad died cause: heart attack

“God why? why me? why?,” ask Gerard as he call 911

“911 what’s your emergency?,” ask the lady in the phone

“My dad just died I tried to save him but It’s too late my mom died a week ago, now I’m alone why?,” ask Gerard

“it’s ok sweetheart were here for you, we’ll take care of you,” the Operator replied

A minute later gerard heard a siren, the police came with an ambulance. The medic tried to do CPR on the old man but its too late…

“Where do i go now?,” ask gerard

“Um… do you have any family members nearby?,” ask the officer

“No,” Gerard replied

“Ok then If Its ok, you could live with me and my wife, we don’t have a son/daughter anyway soo,” Said the officer

“Um I don’t know,” Gerard replied

“What do you want to be when you grow up?,” The officer ask

“I would like to be a businessman like my father, but I, I want to be a nurse, I want to help people. Because thats what Im good at… taking care of people, especially my father,”Gerard replied

“okay… then nurse it is.. you know my parents died when I was ten, I know how you feel… just let it out you're gonna be fine,” The officer said

The next day the police officer pick Gerard up to live with him and his wife “Gerard this is my wife jenny and my real name is jackson you can call me jack,”.

Gerard smiled and said: “I will do my best to make you guys proud, thank you for all of these, thank you for giving me a second chance Jack,”

“Alright then, let me show you your room,” jack replied

6 years later Gerard woke up with a jack knocking on his door.

“Hey Gerry open up!!! we got good news for you,” yield jack

Gerard jump out of his bed and opened the door: What news?, He ask

“you got hired,” Jack said

Gerard smiled he could not hold his emotion: “yesss!, which hospital accepted me?,” He ask

“St. Luke Hospital in 108 Street,” Jack replied

Gerard was so surprise he knows he didn't apply for that hospital, tears start running down his face.

“Whats wrong,”? Jack ask

“I… I did not apply for that hospital’” Gerard replied

“why?,” Jack ask

Gerard sat down in the floor looking at his mom’s picture and said: “Mom died in that hospital I don’t wanna work in there,”

“okay we’ll find some other place for you to work,” Jack replied

A month later gerard got hired in a different hospital, he then meet his future in wife there.

Things like this comes unexpected, we all have up’s and down’s, but there is always a way out.
