The Road to Success
Being a teenager in modern day society is so hard. So many pressures are put on you to make amazing grades, go to a great college, and get a great job and ultimately reach success. Sadly, it isn’t as easy as it sounds. Reaching success is almost impossible to do perfectly if you don’t know how. Soon, you will find that success will be almost effortless once you finish reading these simple tips.
The quote “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life” applies to the book Teenagers Preparing for the Real World by Chad Foster. In the book, one of the tips for success is “find your passion.” This is so important because so many people apply for jobs thinking about making lots of money but end up miserable because their job isn’t their passion. This impacts them in so many bad ways, but the worse is the immense feeling of regret and asking the question what could’ve been. In the long run, finding a passion and sticking with it will be most satisfactory for your future. In fact, finding your passion will help you get more success because you will want to spend day and night perfecting your skill. Whereas, someone that has a job that isn’t their passion will do a mediocre job because there is no drive to push them pass their limits. For example, in the book, Teenagers Preparing for the Real World the author mentioned that he personally knows Elton John. After he said that he talked about how one time he went over Elton’s house and how many times in mid-conversation Elton would find his way over to the piano and start playing. He soon came to the realization that Elton did this because music is his passion. Music was there for him when he felt like his dad or nobody else was. Elton’s passion kept him going through his personal life and ultimately helped him reach success. Elton John’s story is a great example that knowing your passion and pursuing it is a great way to reach success.
Although finding your passion is important on the journey to achieving success, it isn’t the only thing you need to do. Another quote I always used to hear was, “The people I know can affect my future.” Looking back, I believe that the quote is absolutely right. In today’s society, you can’t get anywhere in life alone. There is always someone in the background helping you to reach success. Whether it’s family, friends, co-workers or even someone you randomly meet off the street. In fact, without these people in your life it would be extremely hard or even impossible for somebody to reach success. This matters because without them in your life you wouldn’t reach success and the ultimate goal is to reach it. For instance, I chose a science fair project that required several months to complete. It became overwhelming and my parents showed me how to create a project plan. The project was a list of tasks g with the dates required for completion. This made something very complex easy.
In conclusion, success isn’t impossible but it also takes work, dedication, passion, and help from people you meet along the way, but if you use these simple tips the journey to success will be almost effortless.
