Honesty. There are so many differents aspects of honesty and what can come of it. We don’t always hold honesty as our first priority even though it should be. Humanity tries to paint this picture in their head where everything works out and fits to their advantage. But society isn’t like that. We have to face the truth and not cover it up with a bunch of lies just to make the situation better.
According to Webster’s dictionary, honesty is defined as ‘fairness and straightforwardness of conduct”. To me, this means to just face the facts. Not everyone is perfect or fair so you have to deal with what is given to you. In some ways, people don’t like speaking the truth or taking it in, but the outcome is worthwhile. So take your chances and speak your mind because being honest is a healthy way to live.
Sometimes we have to think more in depth about being honest. It’s not always what is true and what’s not. It’s what we make of ourselves. Communication has much greater success when honesty is involved. If you are having a conversation and all there is are lies, then it’s just a bunch of words scrambled up to try and make some meaning. Being honest is what holds family and friends together. Without that, then what is of use. Sure we may love someone, but being honest with that loved one is way more special.
Last but not least, trusting yourself. You will never be able to trust someone and be a hundred percent truthful with them if you can’t do the same for yourself. That’s the key. If all someone does is lie, and lie, and lie, then that person is only lying to themselves. Your head starts to believe what your mouth is saying so it gets harder to trust yourself. No matter how difficult it may be, just remember honesty is key.
