How i Met Your Mother Finale
How I met your mother was a Television show which aired on CBS. The season finale aired on March 31, 2014. The show aired two episodes back to back to finish the entire series. How I met your mother is a story about a father telling his two kids how he met their mother. Ted, the father, is reminiscing of all the stories he had before he met the kid’s mother. Ted Mosby is telling the story in 2030, and he starts from 2005, long before he met the mother. Robin Scherbatsky is a news anchor who moves to New York City from Canada. Barney Stinson is a male who has sex with as many women as he can. He always tries to make every night legendary and is overall awesome. Lily Aldrin is a kindergarten teacher who later turns into an art consultant. Marshall Eriksen started off as a law student, then he became a lawyer and later a judge on the state supreme court. They are all best friends. Tracy McConnell is the mother. She is not seen until the season finale of season 8.
I am going to state the key points in the show, and write about how I feel about them. Ted was leaving to Chicago but he finally met the mother and chose not to go. I liked this part because the gang was still together. Ted did not go to New York. If Ted left for Chicago he never would have met the mother who lives in New York. The gang would have been broken up and a lot of crazy stuff would have went down.
The next key point was Ted’s wife, Tracy, gets pregnant. I liked this because it tells us when the first child was born. Since, Ted is telling the story to his kids; this helps approximate the date of his daughter. They used to show the daughter a lot in the first season but the show ran for nine seasons and the daughter in real life would be growing up. So, they recorded the ending nine years ago and the two kids who acted as Ted’s kids had to keep it a secret.
Another key point was that three years after Robin and Barney’s wedding, they divorce. I hated this part because I always wanted Robin and Barney to stay together. They had a great relationship on air and the writers should not have ruined it by divorcing them. Barney was always a womanizer who people thought would not settle down. He had a few relationships but Robin got in the way. He truly loved Robin. So, when the married everyone expected it to be forever. I wanted it to be forever
Right after the divorce is revealed, the next key point is that Marshall and Lily are about to have their third child. The Eriksen family is known for having a lot of children, so this helps clear up Marshall followed in his family’s footsteps or not. In the first season Marshall and Lily state that they will be their own family and not like their parents. Marshall’s family is extremely tall and have kids that weigh 15 pounds. Lily’s family is never there for her. It seems they became their own family.
One of the biggest and unexpected thing was when Barney got a girl pregnant. Barney did a perfect month, which is having sex with 31 different women without striking out with any women at all. Then, Barney later states that the 31st women got pregnant and he is going to have a child. This was crazy because it was extremely unexpected. No one knew how Barney would be with a child; how he would change. I really liked this part though because I felt like it meant that Barney is finally going to settle down. Not with the mother but with the child. When 31 gave birth to the child Barney loved the child instantly and said that everything he had was hers. This shows that Barney has finally changed and will settle down. He quits picking up girls, getting extremely drunk and all the stuff he used to do before.
Ted and Tracy get married. This is a big part of the show because it tells us when they got married. They were engaged for five years but never had the time to do it. They were going to do it before but Tracy got pregnant.
Tracy becomes ill and dies in 2014. This was extremely sad and not necessary at all for a comedy show.
Last but not least the ending was very big. After he meets the mother, and tell the kids “and that kids is how I met your mother.” The kids figure out that the entire story is about how he loves Aunt Robin and the kids want him to call her. Ted calls her but hangs up because he has a better idea. He takes the blue French horn which he stole for her on their first date and waves it in front of her when she looks from the window. I hated the ending because I wanted Barney and Robin to be together. I hate that Ted ended up with Robin and how the entire story is about him wanting his kids permission to date Robin.
The ending got me really mad.
I rate the ending 6 out of 10. I rate the show 10 out of 10
