Gun Control?
Guns For Justice
People make statements like “lover not a fighter” and it sets an image of a hippie, peaceful creature who won’t ever have anything associated with violence. It forms the idea of the creature being weak and easy manipulated. Why should American citizens feel like this? It’s our rights as a citizen to hold the right to bear guns. Guns are an art to some people as they use it for sporting and hunting, its part of their lifestyle. They help protect and save lives every day in cases where there’s no other way to defend oneself. To sum it up, guns should be used in everyday lifestyle to protect oneself or even make a lifestyle out of it for collecting or hunting, because it’s in our constitution that we are allowed to therefore it shouldn’t be taken away as it pushes us into the control of the government.
Now it might seem weird and out of focus for people to say that we shouldn’t have guns but some still do. It’s when people say “pro-gun control” that makes it unclear whether or not they are against people having gun possessions or total up for the idea. Well to clear it up, pro-gun control means they are mostly likely against regular day people having guns. Anti-gun control means that the person agrees with our founding fathers that citizens should be allowed to have guns. Usually, democrats are the pro-gun control ones while republicans are the anti-gun control. Everywhere you see there are things associated with guns and people’s beliefs on them. Whether it’s a policeman walking around with a gun safely placed under a utility belt and pedestrians feeling uncomfortable or even news stations talking about a crime. There are many points to be brought up from both sides but at the end it comes down to whichever can make the best results in today’s world.
As we all know guns are used in the army. If we look deep into the issue we see that skilled handled professionals who handle guns only shoot when they have to. If this amount of caution was paid to every citizen who pays a gun the government would be able to purge all the hate against guns as citizens would use the guns in the same way officers do, just when their forced too as they would be also be protecting another human being. If situations where guns helped save a life were bought up for the world to see the repercussion of that would help rehabilitate the people’s mind about guns. For example, a case where a customer at a dollar store saved a mangers life as he was being gunned down on the floor by a criminal, Adric White “He had the gun to [a clerk’s] head. He had him on his knees. In the article called “Black Youth Shot by Bystander in Dollar Store Armed Robbery” the shooter state, “I drew my gun on him and I said ‘Hey don’t move.’ At that point he swung around and before he had a chance to aim the gun at me I fired. I didn’t want to shoot him.” If the customer wasn’t there with a gun the chances are the manger would have either been brutally robbed with a criminal on the loose or killed. The gun that was used by the customer was a saver, as it changed the high chances of a criminal from being on the loose to a criminal having to deal with the consequences while he is in the hospital for a very short time soon heading to prison. Guns are being set up as the scapegoat in situations where people use them for evil instead of being a helping hand for defense and establishing people’s safety when criminals are not going to think twice about holding a gun, citizens should be allowed to stand a chance.
On a different point, guns don’t have to be used to defend, protect or enforce they can just be part of an average American’s life. Some are used and shown off as collections as guns have been around for thousands of years, dating back to the ninth century in China, therefore having different forms of gun style as some can be air soft, revolvers rifles which people learn to love leading to a hobby of collecting them or maybe even selling and trading them as a business. Parallel to collecting, it’s part of many people’s lifestyle to go out and hunt. Some families even plan to it as it supports their bonding time throughout the year. It would not stand as an act of violence to go out and hunt with a familiar shotgun that has been past down by generations, it even brings people closer to natural and peace as it causes people to release some stress. It’s just human’s way of living as the start of humanity’s way of living was hunting and gathering. Some just like to hunt with their gathered guns. “Founded in 1836 by American industrialist Samuel Colt, Colt’s Patent Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company (now known as Colt’s Manufacturing Company) is considered largely responsible for the popularity and mass production of the revolver and has been creating quality firearms since” this is a great source of someone who loved guns and decided to base their life out of what they loved, in what way is this dangerous?
What more is there to ask from a nation that promises freedom for all, for all to have freedom to hold the right to have possession of something that symbolizes it. As we all know our founding fathers wanted to grant every generation that came after a life, which revolved around balance, justice and fairness. The Amendments where a recipe to them as it enforced all the rights every American fought for from Britain. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This statement from the constitution says the words “free state”, meaning that the approval of guns can enforce the state to be free, to have complete assurance that the government won’t become a dictator and take away the citizens rights. It shows the importance of people feeling safe and justice shining through as it states a fair case where anyone can be able to stand for their rights and fight for it. Not to mention that if regular day citizens are introduced to guns and feel comfortable with them, it can help keep this nation safe from war as it levels up people’s skills that are needed in any military environment.
“The Bureau of Justice Statistics reports one third of female murder victims were killed by an intimate -- a spouse, ex-spouse, or boyfriend -- and more than two-thirds of the spouse and ex-spouse victims were killed by firearms.” Though this sad news from media matters does defile the winning side it isn’t as strong as people plan it out to be. This awry point being made can easily be knocked down. If there is domestic violence happening anywhere the government and even private non-profit organizations have an ample amount of help for women in those situations meaning that the deaths that have occurred could have been avoided. In the simplest way, the victims could have used to gun to defend themselves, at least long enough for them to contact help from public services. This argument also goes back to the point where guns are the scapegoat; they get all the blame for people’s bad decisions.
In conclusion, people need to realize that guns aren’t the problem, people are. We need to focus on getting our families and friends who might be involved in any wrong doings to get out of their black hole. Our society is the one who takes their shields and use it against ourselves, but we are forgetting we are society. Guns are just taken in a bad way, and people need to reconsider a gun, not as a killing machine but maybe as an instrument that can save lives. A machine that inspires people to a lifestyle of hunting or as the reason people have jobs that helps them feed their families. It reminds every citizen that they hold their freedom and gives them a chance to fight for when their put on the spot. Guns aren’t made for a killing purpose as you can defend yourself without taking a life away, there for safety, collection/hunting and for the government to have limits on rights.
