Dream Big, As Big As the Ocean Blue
"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land upon the stars." This admirable quote describes how each individual should have a strong determination and a positive mindset to accomplish goals set throughout his or her life. Goals are the desired result in which a person strives to achieve every day, and because of goals, people receive a feeling of purpose in their lives. A goal can be a simple objective or a complex target; however, the personal importance of a goal is derived from an individual's desire to achieve. This school year, I challenge myself to reveal God's love to others, participate in service activities, and maintain a 4.0 grade point average, which all are attainable through persistence and determination.
The most important goal I am aiming for by the end of this school year is revealing God's love to others. This goal is significant to me because I believe having God's presence in one's life is important and necessary for survival, just as food and water are basic necessities for survival. God is necessary for survival because He nourishes both our mind and soul and without Him, we would be nothing. In order to attain this goal, I must encourage others to pray and rely on God for assistance, and set a positive example for others. I could also express how God has portrayed His love and mercy to me and most importantly, keep a smile on my face. If I accomplish this goal, I will feel that I am doing God's work. Therefore, I will be fulfilling my purpose on Earth. Revealing God's love to others is something each child of God should strive for, and by sharing His love, God will be evident in this world, which will be beneficial to my personal growth.
Another important goal I set for myself is to participate in service activities. I believe service to others should play a large role in all Christians' lives. Additionally, this goal is important to me because I am serving God by serving others. I dream to attain this goal by getting involved at the Woman's New Life Center, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and planning a mission trip. By taking these three vital steps, I think I will make a difference in the lives of others, which will be extremely rewarding. Service activities are a great way to become closer to God while helping others and bettering one's self simultaneously.
The last goal I wish to achieve by the end of this school year is maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. This challenge would force me to strive for the best and not to settle for less. I will be able to reach a 4.0 by refraining from procrastination and doing all of my homework each night. In addition, in order to reach this goal in an effective manner, being proactive is essential. After I accomplish this goal, I will feel proud that I did not stop trying, even when the odds were against me. Maintaining a 4.0 will help to prepare me to meet the challenges of the future.
Setting goals throughout the year is something that is extremely necessary to achieve greatness, which will benefit me as both a student and servant of Christ. Even though school is rather important, God comes first. There is no greater feeling than being in God's presence, and I hope to share this experience with my peers. Moreover, I am able to bring God's peace to others by doing service. Likewise, I cannot think of a better way to be rewarded than by God for helping out His children. In addition to increasing my relationship with God and participating in service, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average is a task that I dream to accomplish with putting forth relentless effort. Once I achieve a 4.0 grade point average, I will feel accomplished. Nothing worth doing is easy, and if I receive a 4.0, I will feel proud that I did not give up on a challenging goal. With God's unfailing help, all of the goals I set for this year will be possible and within easy reach.
