A smart young lady named Raina has just graduated from University of California on the dean’s list with all As. She has been on the right path for her whole life getting good grades and cheering for the best competitive cheer team in the nation; Elite, with her best friends Rohna and Ryah. She has been friends with Rohna since she was eight years old and Ryah since she was thirteen. Since she has met them Raina hasn’t made any more best friends because she knows they will support her in anything she chooses to do. She decides to apply for A job at a famous department store; Niemen Marcus, to be a become a buyer which is a person who makes a purchases for the store . The interviewers called her back and the last of the series of interviews is tomorrow.

After the call Raina picks out her outfit for tomorrow; she chooses a black blazer, striped black and white True Religion pants, Christian Louboutin black pumps, a red Chanel clutch and black blouse to go under the blazer. After choosing her outfit she takes a long shower to relieve her stress before the interview tomorrow. Then she brushes her teeth and picks out the makeup she will be wearing.

The next morning Raina wakes up at eight o’clock for her interview that starts at 9:30am, begins to get ready starting with brushing her teeth, ironing her clothes , doing her hair in a nice sophisticated bun and puts on her makeup consisting of a little mascara and of course some red lipstick to match her pumps. After she is finished getting dressed it’s exactly 8:45am, so she eats breakfast and starts on her way to the interview, getting into her Mercedes Benz C-Class Coupe, setting her GPS so she can get there promptly at 9:15am to set a good example and set up her things if she needs to. As Raina arrives, she grabs her things, fixes her outfit and proceeds, walking in with a confident model-like walk. She walks to the receptionist’s desk, states why she is there, and waits until she is called in by Natasha Battle, the head of the hiring team at Neiman Marcus. Natasha is a nice woman that has the most fabulous clothes that Raina has ever seen and she knows it, so her confidence is turned to the max.
When Raina gets in the room where the interview will take place,
“I love your shoes and purse.” Natasha says

“Thank you I love yours shoes as well.” Raina says
“Thank you, now let’s start this interview; I’m pretty sure you will get the job.” Natasha responds

As the interview begins Raina is very nervous, but after a few minutes she loosens up and gets into the grove as she answers the questions starting with…

“Why do you think you will be good for this position?”
“I have always loved clothes and people always ask me to choose their outfits for them.” Raina answers

“What are some assets you think you will bring to this company?” Natasha asks
“I will bring positive energy, perfect looking clothing and good quality clothing .” Raina responds saying
“Those are all the questions I have for you, you may leave now. Have a great day.” Natasha states
As Raina gets up to leave, Natasha just finally comes out and says “I’m just going to let you know right now. You have gotten the job, I will be calling you soon to let you know when you start.”

Raina is so excited that she has gotten the job, she walks out with a huge smile and proceeds to her car. When she gets in her car, the first thing she does is call everyone to let them know she got the wonderful job. The joy lasts all day and even spills into the next. Raina ended up getting the call the next day letting her know when to come in and bring all her things. She started that next week on Monday and hasn’t stopped since she loves it so much.

As she is eating and driving she spills something on the black blouse. She tries to wipe it off for about 5 minutes but it wouldn’t come off; eventually, Raina begins searching for something else to put on finally she finds a white blouse. When she begins to put it on she realizes that it’s very wrinkled but she has no other chose but to put the blouse on. Raina finally arrives to where the interview will take place at about 9:32am so she runs into the building right to the receptionist’s desk and states why she is there.

The receptionist says, “She is right there waiting on you,” and points in Natasha Battle’s direction, she is the head of the hiring team at Neiman Marcus. Natasha is a nice woman that has the most fabulous clothes that Raina has ever seen and she knows it, so her confidence it turned to the max. When Raina gets in the room where the interview will take place Natasha blatantly states “You cannot be late to an interview if you want the job”.

After the statement that Natasha just made Raina pretty much knows that she will not get the job. As the interview begins Raina is very nervous and she never loosens up to get into the groove as she answers the questions starting with…
“Why do you think you will be good for this position?” Natasha asks

“I have always loved clothes and people always ask me to choose their outfits for them”. Raina responds.
“what are some assets you think you will bring to this company?” Natasha
“I will bring positive energy, perfect looking clothing and good quality clothing.” Raina replies

“Those are all the questions I have for you, you may leave now. Have a great day and remember to never be late.” Natasha says
As Raina gets up to leave, Natasha just finally comes out and says “ We both know that you are not ready for this position but maybe you can attempt to come back in a few years. Also you just need to come better prepared and remember to iron you shirt the next time you go to an interview.”

Raina heart shattered at the thought of her not being able to get the job all because of her alarm clock not going off and a shirt that she had on. As she left the room to proceed to her car all you could see was a broken face like a little kid that didn’t get the gift they wanted on Christmas. As soon as Raina got in the car tears began to roll down her face in disappointment and she realized she would never let this happen again no matter what.
