My Day started when I woke up in my sisters room, but she wasn't there. I looked all over the house but she was nowhere to be found. I rushed to my moms room yelling,Ella is missing. My mom mumbled as she was trying to wake up, “We have to look everywhere, all of her favorite places.”
In my head I was trying to think of Ella's favorite places, The toy store, the ice cream shop, the playground, and the zoo. I don’t know why I blurted it out, but I decided,I would look for her at the zoo. My mom replied, “the zoo?” I responded, “Yeah that's one of Ella's favorite places.” “Well, alright,” then she started rummaging through her purse to find some money. After ten minutes of digging and dumping she found her wallet. She handed me the money, uttering “here is money for the bus, the ticket into the zoo.” I rushed to my room, changed my clothes not bothering to comb my hair or brush my teeth and fled out the door.
When I got to the bus stop I burst into tears because I missed my little sister, and didn't want her to get hurt. When the bus finally got here, I dried my tears and climbed onto the bus. While I was getting comfy in the not so comfy seat the bus driver howled, “where to little lady.” I answered the Milwaukee Zoo. He answered back, “alright then lets go.”
On the way there I was thinking, why did she run away and how did she get there? About 5 minutes later the bus driver blurted out, “Here we are.” Since I was the only one on the bus, he was kind enough to drop me off at the gate. We got there as they were pulling the gates open. I rushed over to the ticket booth, got my ticket, and started yelling her name. I looked everywhere, the gift shop and all of the animals cages, but I couldn't find her. I sat down and started thinking ---- I forgot about the monkeys! I got up from the bench and started running as fast as I could toward the monkey cage. To my disbelief, Ella was sitting on a big rock inside the monkey cage. She looked happy and petrified at the same time. I called a zookeeper to get her out, while calling my mom to tell her I found her and that she was fine.
When we got home, everybody was relieved to see her home safe. Everybody hugged and kissed her once or twice with my mom giggling, “You must be hungry.”
Laughingly Ella replied, “ I want cupcakes, no, wait, I want Chunky Monkey!” We all laughed, but I still wonder to this day why she ran away.
