The Burrito
The Burrito
It was wedsday night at youth group. The students were engaging in conversations.
Then, Zack; the Youth Group supervisor, said that we’re having a relay race with
something to eat at the end. I had a feeling that it might be something nasty to eat
up. One of my friends Maya said, “I don’t think so. I’m entering.” “Don’t say I didn’t
warn you.” I said.
After selecting teams, the relay race began. There were a total of four teams with
five
people in each group. Of course I didn’t enter. People had to piggyback a person and
back, do leapfrog, wrap a person up in plastic wrap, carry them bridle style, then a
person from each group had to eat a burrito. However there was a catch: each of the
burritos had something in it that doesn’t go in a burrito in the first place! What was
in the burritos were uncooked green beans, asparagus, gummy bears, and canned
corn
and Brussels sprouts! I nearly doubled over in laughter as people hesitated to eat
them. “I knew it! I knew it! It would be bad!” I said in between giggles. Not a lot of
the students wanted to do anything like this anymore I bet. “I’m going to stick to
regular burritos from now on.” Ian, a senior in my school said. “Hey, when they say
you are what you eat, I didn’t expect this.” One boy said. “Yeah, what are you trying
to do Zack, poison us?!” Maya shouted. “ I told you that it would wind up like this.” I
said as I went to get some water for the kids who were throwing up in the trashcans
after eating those terrible burritos. “Don’t do that again Zack.” I warned. “Okay, but I
can’t guarantee it.” Zack said jokingly. Maybe next time, we should force him to eat it.
