Future Plans for the Foreign Exchange Students
Arrowhead High School foreign exchange students, Aldazher (Al) Indanan from Philippine; Rebecca (Becki) Buschmann from Germany; Skage Schei from Norway; Sanni Valtonen from Finland; and Ketkaew (Ket) Cheevamungkol from Thailand, came to America to better their future.
“I would come here again, work and travel,” Cheevamungkol says.
Buschmann calls this year a social, study abroad year. But she wants to study abroad again. Buschmann says she is experiencing many new things and likes how easy going school is here in Wisconsin compared to her school and teachers in Germany. After this year, she wants to study in another country and complete another “…social year in a country where they speak Spanish.”
“It really improves my English and I’m learning a lot about the culture here,” Schei says.
But their plans do not stop at this year. Many of the students are thinking about how their experience in America will help them achieve their career goals.
Cheevamungkol wants to be an actress as for Buschmann; she wants to work in a hotel.
“I want to be the richest man in the world….that nobody knows,” Indanan says.
As the school year begins ends in June in America, high school isn’t finished for Cheevamungkol, Indanan, and Schei. Once they graduate from Arrowhead High School, they have to return to their home countries and finish off their last year of school.
