Alcohol

A strong belief of mine is that the drinking age should be increased. There are many reasons why people think the age people should start drinking alcohol should be increased. At age 21 most people are either not mature enough to drink or handle the consequences of drinking. Alcohol is one of the most abused drugs in United States. Alcohol is used by more young people in the U.S than tobacco or any illicit drugs. Also 41% of car accidents are because of high alcohol levels. The solution is very simple how come it hasn’t been done.

Underage kids can easily get access to alcohol. It’s common for someone underage to have an older brother/sister or even a friend who is legal to buy alcohol. People every day walk into a store buy alcohol for teens. This frustrates me and there is no end to this.

Teenagers always go to parties, and you never know who might have spiked the drink. At many parties there is alcohol, weed, and many more drugs. After parties some minors would drive home drunk slowly and safely. They get lucky they talk about how easy it was and chance are they will try it again and, will not be as lucky that time? They don’t understand the risk of drinking and driving and hurting Themselves or others. They may get lucky this time but not the next time. The guilt they would have know that they ended someones life after hitting them while they were drinking and driving. I don’t think anyone should have the guilt or that experience in their life. The solution of fixing this problem is simple and easy, why hasn't it been done.

AcDrinkSafeely.info, the site that gives alcohol smarts, drinking every day is not good especially for the liver. Your liver is the largest organ in your body, it’s located right under your ribs on the right hand side. The liver produces proteins and energy from food. If the liver fails, fails completely you will die within 3-4 days that’s without a liver transplant.

Aaccordinghe webMD.com, a website that provides medical advice, when it comes to your health is it better to drink or not? The answer is NOT. In one piece of the research a women who had a little as one drink a day. This women boosted her risk of cancer of the breast, liver, rectum, throat, mouth and esophagus. Just one drink a day could have may of caused her cancer. Alcohol is a very dangerous drug and if you just drink reckless you may end up with cancer.

The highest automobile accidents are caused by alcohol. Almost every day there is a new story how some person died or killed someone in a car accident with a high alcohol level. The driver could miss a stop sign or not stay in the right lane and crash into another car, they’re not the one who always get killed or hurt! Alcohol does make the body depressed, makes the driver more relaxed while driving, also not as focused. Sometimes they just drive right into a house or a building and kill themselves instantly.

“Alcohol acts as a depressant on the central nervous system”. In some cases the drinker will feel relaxed, talkative, and more confident. The more you drink the stronger the effect will be, eventually you will have loss of balance, coordination also judgment. This can lead to an injury and death. At even a higher level drinking may make you want to vomit, become unable to walk, pass out, or even lose bladder control. Because alcohol has some toxins in it, it can lead to liver disease, heart disease, psychiatric and social problems, and increased risk of some cancer

I don’t think alcohol should be banned it should just be more controlled. I also feel like the age is also a factor. There are millions of ways to have fun at parties without drinking or doing drugs in that matter. Lots of people don’t understand the risk of drinking, getting cancer, killing your liver, killing your life, and killing other people. Increasing the age will decrease the number of automobile accidents. You used to be able to get your license at 16 lots of car accidents and deaths were blamed on young kids not paying attention add alcohol to this and it increases the chance of an accident greatly.not paying attain. They increased it for one more year and saw massive decrease of car accidents, and they can do the same with alcohol. the solution is simple why has it been done.
