Best Friend

When you think of your best friend you probably think of someone you can tell anything to, someone who is always there for you, and someone who will love you no matter what. When I think of my best friend I think of Morgan. She is definitely the definition of a best friend to me. She won’t ever let me down and she will always help me if I need her. Morgan is my very best friend.

God sure blessed me with a wonderful best friend! Morgan is not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. Her beauty rubs off onto me, I think. She makes me want to be a better person. She and I first met in kindergarten. We were best friends from day one, even though I thought I had a different best friend. Kindergarten was so much fun with her. During naptime we never napped- we always rolled a marble back and forth to each other. We have always been the type of friends to just have fun. We loved to match and finish each other sentences.

After kindergarten we kind of drifted apart and never talked again until fifth grade. In fifth grade, we were much more than friends though- more like sisters. We held hands everywhere we went, and had matching everything. When people saw us they probably thought we were two very weird children.

All Morgan’s old friends started to hate me for “stealing” her from them. She just liked me more I guess. We were meant to be best friends. Just she and I. Her old friends always tried to steal her back, but we were too close for that to happen.

I was jealous of everything she did. Morgan could always do her hair so perfectly and big. She also had so many cute Aeropostle® shirts and tank tops that I was so jealous of. She was so little and I was such a big girl though, so we could never share clothes.

Sixth grade came, and we were going into the big middle school. I remember Morgan was still a shy, quiet student that was always the teacher’s favorite. Once she met me that all changed. I got her talking and started getting her into trouble. Some teachers really liked us, but most didn’t. Seventh grade was Morgan’s prime year I think. She went crazy with the big hair; people would always ask me if she had golf balls in her hair. She also tried so hard to make her makeup look just right. All I remember is I was so jealous of her. I tried every day to make my hair look as big and beautiful as hers, but I never could. I also tried to do my makeup exactly like her too, but I just looked silly. Now that we look back, she looked crazy.

Middle school flew by and it was soon the summer of freshmen year. Morgan and I hung out pretty much every day that summer. We laid out in the sun so much and got super tan. Our biggest wish was that I had my license to drive us around. We just wanted to take road trips and go do fun things without a parent driving us around.

Morgan is the friend that I know will always be there for me. She is someone to cheer me up when I am sad or just be there to talk to when I need someone. She is shy at first, but once you crack her open she is the kindest, funniest, most wonderful person you will ever meet. My favorite thing about Morgan is her great sense of humor. I could say anything to her and she would just laugh with me. Being she has a great sense of humor and so do I, we never ever get into fights. Usually girls have so much drama. Well not Morgan and me! There’s no time for drama when you just want to have fun. She is very understanding and always looks on the bright side.

Finally freshmen year came. We had many classes together, but the one that stands out the most is science, which was so much more fun with her. We didn’t learn much, but boy did we have fun. All we really did was put on lotion, take pictures, laugh, sleep, and water the flowers, oh, and a little bit of work when Mr. Pickard made us. We never did the lab experiments right and half the time didn’t really know what we were doing, but with the help of Mr. Pickard we managed to pass freshmen science. We also had history together, which was so much better with Morgan. People always thought we were so stupid, but we always did great when we worked together. If we had to make a poster, we just spent the whole time trying to make it look good. School can be so boring unless you have classes with your best friend.
After we passed freshmen year came sophomore year. We currently have 3 classes together and make them all very funny. I sometimes look forward to going to school on Monday because I just want to see my best friend’s face. Sometimes I get so stressed and annoyed because of school, but then she just comes up to me and makes me laugh and finds good reason to be at school.

Someday Morgan and I are finally going to graduate and move on with our lives. I hope that our friendship never ends. I know when we are in college we will have homework, other friends, and a job. So we might not be able to make as much time for each other as we will want, but I know for a fact I will fit her into my schedule as much as I can. I also want Morgan to still be in my life when we are growing old. I want to get old and wrinkly with her right by my side. There wouldn’t be a reason to wake up every morning if it wasn’t for her.

I think it’s safe to say that without Morgan I wouldn’t be the person I am today. She has basically made me who I am. If you know anyone who needs a friend, I think you should send them to Morgan. She is always looking for new friends and to make them happy.
