Many people like going to the cinema to watch a movie on a big screen with surround sound... I disagree, I prefer to stay in and watch a movie by laying on the sofa, eating popcorn and drinking a nice cup of hot chocolate with cream and marshmallow’s… you can’t beat that!
But at the cinema many adults try to get their children into see a movie above their age. Many teenagers try to fake their age by saying they are over the age of the film (12A/15+) which is illegal! But if you have an adult with you and you are above or the same age as the movie, it is legal. It is a good idea to take your ID card when you go to the cinemas just in case you do get asked about your age.
There are different genres of Movies: action, adventure, horror and romance. Some movies entertain people and some people watch movies for quality time with friends and family. But Movies which includes horror/crime may give young people bad ideas and bad impressions about the movie.
My favourite movie and book is The Hunger Games because it has a great storyline and twists. I have read all 3 books of the Hunger games and prefer Mockingjay which is the last book, I think Mockingjay is the best book out of the 3 because it sums up what the Hunger games is all about and it ends with a strong ending. I prefer the books to the movie, but the movie is brilliant!! The book includes so much detail about what is happening in the characters mind and what the character is feeling.
My favourite character is Katniss Everdeen because she has to look after her family by going out and hunting for food beyond the fence of District 12 and when it came to the reaping of the 74th annual Hunger games Katniss volunteered to go into the hunger games than her 12 year old sister Prim. Katniss is a strong and brave character who would do anything to keep her family alive from starvation, but when she meets Peeta Mellark who saves her life once from starvation by throwing her a loaf of burnt bread, she changes from a girl who is brave to a person who is in love with a baker’s son.
